Wishing the very best of luck to Emma Sweeney and Cora Doyle, who travel to Kingscourt, Co. Cavan on Saturday to take on the Munster Champions in the all-Ireland Ladies Minor Doubles Final.


Following the success of last year's initiative Jump for Joy, staff members from O'Brien's Londis, Larkin's Cross, are delighted to be part of the 2017 initiative Climb for Joy, where Londis staff and friends are climbing Corran Tuathail in Co. Kerry and raising funds for our charity partner Pieta House.

Our annual camogie club Easter Raffle took place in Declans on Thursday evening. Results were not available at time of print. Thanks to all who supported it.

Our Junior camogie team play Bunclody away on Friday at 7 p.m. in the league while our senior team face the same opposition on Tuesday evening away at 7 p.m. - good luck ladies.


Glynn-Barntown GAA, camogie and Ladies' Football Clubs extend their deepest condolences to the Barron and Ormonde families on the sad occasion of the passing of Gráinne's mother Sheila Ormonde, Wexford. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

We also offer sincere sympathy to senior hurler Jack Fenlon and the Fenlon family on the sad passing of Jack's grandfather Ned Fenlon recently.


Hard luck to our under-16 footballers defeated by Cloughbawn on Monday evening.

Our under-12 hurlers defeated Ferns and Shelmaliers in Craanford on Wednesday night to qualify for the semi-final in the Castletown tournament.

EASTER CAMP - Glynn-Barntown Easter Camp will take place from the April 18 to April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The camp is open to all primary school children. A limited amount of places are still available. To register information contact Roisin 087 1253637.

Best of luck to our senior hurlers v St Martin's in Piercestown on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in the ACHL.

Wishing every good luck to Mark Fanning and Gary Moore and the Wexford Senior hurlers as they take on all-Ireland champions Tipperary in Nowlan Park on Sunday afternoon. No doubt there will be a strong club and county contingent heading up to support the lads in their quest for league success.

ladies' football

There were heavy hearts at Piercestown on Monday night as the under-14 ladies bowed out of the Féile having been beaten by a very good Crossabeg-Ballymurn team in the semi-final.

Our girls gave their all but a strong defence from the opposition put paid to much of our scoring chances. Best of luck to Crossabeg-Ballymurn now as they progress to the Féile final.

Well done to our super under-10 Green team who beat Shelmaliers on Wednesday evening at home in their opening match of the season. Some very impressive football on display. Well done team, mentors and parents.


Glynn-Barntown are holding an introductory tennis evening on our courts on Wednesday, April 26, at 7 p.m... so, if you haven't held a racquet in 10 years or have never held one at all, come along, bring a pal... or two and learn some basic skills. It's free and it's fun.

Outdoor athletics resumes for the summer season in Ballyhogue GAA Grounds on Mondays and Wednesday at 7 p.m. from this Monday, April 3, All athletes taking part must be registered for 2017. Indoor training has finished till October.


The Wexford FC car boot sale is starting at Ferrycarrig Park - home of Wexford FC, from Thursday, April 13, and continuing every Thursday throughout the summer from 4 p.m. Admission: Traders from €10 Public €2 per car.

Scope events

On Thursday, April 27, the annual general meeting will be held in the AOH hall at 7.30 p.m. to which all are invited.

On Friday, April 28, we will have another of our coffee and information mornings starting at 10.30 a.m. At this event the community garda will be in attendance to give a talk on security in the home followed by a question and answer session and again all are invited to attend.

Daffodil Day

Thanks to all who donated and collected on Daffodil Day. Together we raised the brilliant total of €900.

Camross Drama Group

Members are busy rehearsing for several evenings of spring comedy - two One-act plays and a sketch so here are dates for your diary. Friday, April 28 - St Michael's Hall, Green St, Wexford; Sunday, April 30 - St Mary's Hall, Fethard-on-Sea; Friday, May 5 - Carrig-on-Bannow Community Centre; Sunday, May 14 - Camross Hall. All shows 8 p.m., €10 on door.

Active Retirement

Taghmon Active Retirement Association are planning a trip to Dublin on Thursday, April 20, and visiting the Guinness Storehouse and Diaspora Museum (Epic Centre).

Camross ICA

Our next meeting will take place on May 8 (because of the bank holiday) at 8 p.m. in Camross Hall. The monthly competition will be 'As many items as you can fit in a small match box - no food and no two items the same please'.

Our under-8s travelled to Croke Park on Monday the 10th to play two matches at GAA headquarters. This was a fantastic opportunity for our future club players.A brilliant day was had by all.

Well done to the under-16 football team who had a win over Moguegeen Gaels, an amalgamated side of Clongeen and Fethard, on Monday night 10th in Taghmon, A good start for the boys.

Please support our Féile under-14 boys with their fundraiser, a family table quiz on Friday, April 21, in the GAA Clubhouse. Also keep your diary free for Féile Breakfast Morning Sunday, May 7. Breakfast served up by our under-14 players to help fundraise for their Féile Hurling on June 16 to June 18.
