The St Fintan's GAA lotto now stands at €6,100 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match-three prize of €200 up for grabs each week. Last week's numbers were 14, 17, 22 and 28. Many thanks for your continued support.
The committee of the Ballycogley hall development are initiating a fundraising drive to raise finance for the project. The houses of the parish will be visited by committee members in the coming weeks to give information and look for support for the upgrade of the hall which is hoped to begin soon. This will be of great benefit to the community and we would be very grateful for a generous response to our appeal.
There is a one-day introductory course to Chalk Paint and Decoupage on July 1 at Eastlands Court Ballycogley. All materials supplied and includes Tea Coffee, Home Made Scones, and Chat. Tomhaggard Fun Run
Tomhaggard social centre's annual 5k Walk/Run will take place on Sunday, July 2, at 11 a.m. This is a fantastic family occasion and we hope to see plenty of runners and walkers enjoying the fun. Tomhaggard annual Tractor and Vintage Road Run takes place on Sunday, July 9, starting from the Social Centre. This is a great spectacle and something to be enjoyed by everyone. For details and to book a place contact Eimear at 086 1946311.
Proceeds of both these fundraisers are to repair a leak on the roof of the extension/supper room and water damage which has developed over the past few years.
Dates have been finalised for this year's Scout Camps. Beavers: local June 24 to June 25 ; Cubs: June 23 to June 25 IOAC Tagoat; Scouts and Ventures: June 30 to July 3 Activities in Greystones, Bray and Dublin.
Congratulations to young Scout team of Huan Er McBride, Senan Murray, Adam Ffrench, Danny Lawton Corish, Ava Lawton Breslin, Brendan Thompson and Seán Whitty, who received Silver Standard at last weekend's Co Scoutcraft competition in the IOAC Tagoat. They also won Camp Chef Award for third year in succession. It was a great achievement despite the weather. Overall it was the highest standard of competition in years. The highlight of the weekend was a tribute to Rescue 116 where scouts, ventures leaders and families stood in formation around a ground display, clapping as the Coast Guard Helicopter flew over the site a number of times.
Other dates of interest: Trolley raffle in Brady's Mace Kilmore Quay on Saturday, June 17, in aid of group funds and Camp 18; End of year barbecue and presentation of Badges June 28, all family welcome.
The Ballycogley players would like to thank local man Cllr Frank Staples and current mayor of Wexford for his contribution to the group as part of the groups application for an amenity grant in 2017. This will help in no small way to offset some of the associated running costs of the group.
The Players send their condolences to the family and friends of Wexford Light Opera stalwart Larry Roche, who passed away during the past week. A true gentleman and a fantastic entertainer. May he rest in peace.
The Ballycogley Players will hold a reading for their one-act plays next Thursday night (June 15) in Tomhaggard Social Centre at 8.30 p.m. Actors, directors, stage managers and helpers required. New members are most welcome.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Jim Carthy RIP Gardimus, who sadly died during the recent past and whos remains were laid to rest in Mayglass cemetery following his funeral Mass in St Fintan's church Mayglass. May he rest in peace.
Billy Is Honoured
Congratulations to a St Fintan's legend, Billy O'Brien, who was given a civic reception by Mayor Frank Staples in recognition of all Billy has done for the game of darts in Wexford and indeed Ireland.
Billy's list of accomplishments is just way too long to list here but include winning four all-Ireland titles in a row while playing for Wexford County darts team for 40 years, Guinness World record status, induction into the Irish Darts Hall of Fame, chairman of INDO and many other feats. In among all the dart throwing Billy also won an all-Ireland medal with the Wexford Masters team in 1991.
An amazing list of accomplishments topped off with winning two Junior Hurling Championships and a Junior Football Championship with St Fintan's. Many congratulations Billy, so very well deserving of your special award, a true gentleman and club legend.

Congratulations to this week's winner of our split-the-pot draw prize No 21 in 2017. Mark Finn scooped the winning prize of €328 in Halfway House, Ballycogley on Tuesday, June 6. The next draw took place in Bridie's Bar, Bridgetown on Monday, June 12. Great prize to be won. Many thanks for the hospitality on the night. The AGM of the Wexford football league will take place on July 3, in the Riverbank House hotel Wexford at 8 p.m. The AGM of the wexford schoolboys league will take place in the Riverside Hotel Enniscorthy on Thursday, June 29, at 8 p.m.
Congratulations to Kyle Rankin, Dan Kelly and Daniel Deveruex, who were selected for the Wexford primary schools football team to represent their schools Mayglass, Kilrane and Broadway in an inter county blitz played in Nolan Park Killkenny on Friday last.
Please note that the Féile Na nGael (hurling) takes place in Wexford over the coming weekend, June 16 to June 18 with our under-14 boys in action on all three days. Féile is a great experience for these young players and we thank them and their families for the time and energy put into the preperation.
La Na gClubanna
The st. Fintans family fun day which was planned for the June bank holiday Monday on the club grounds in Ballymore was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions and the club is hoping to re schedule the event in the near future. Watch this space.

Duncormick Area Action Group has once again entered this year's Tidy Towns Competition with judging from June-August. We are appealing to everyone to help us in obtaining better results this year and be proud of our village. We would also like to ask everyone to use the litter bins provided in the village.

Cúl Camps 2017
This year's Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camp for both boys and girls covering Football, Hurling and camogie will take place in St Anne's GAA Club Grounds from Monday, July 17, to Friday, July 21. Cost of Cúl Camp this year is as follows: First Child €60, second Child €50, third child and subsequent children €40 each.

Féile na nGael, a weekend festival of camogie and Hurling across Wexford, Kilkenny and Carlow is fast approaching. St Anne's Ladies' Football and camogie GAA Club will host Clough-Ballacolla camogie GAA Club, Laois for the weekend and the girls along with their families will open their doors to the visiting girls.
On the evening of Friday, June 16, Ballygarrett Réalt na Mara camogie club and Clontibret O'Neills, Monaghan will travel to Rathangan to play their first rounds of camogie. First match is at 5 p.m. St Anne's Coiste na nÓg GAA Club will host Clonaslee - St Manman's GAA Club, Laois for the weekend and the boys along with their families will open their doors to the visiting boys. On the evening of Friday, June 16, Tullogher-Rosbercon, Kilkenny will host St Anne's Coiste na nÓg GAA Club and Clonslee - St Manman's GAA Club to play their first rounds of Hurling. First match is at 4 p.m.
