Community lotto

There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €4,400. The winning numbers were 1, 15, 19 and 29. There were three match-three winners Each receiving €70 each. The match-three winners were Damian Nolan and, Avorey Devereux and Teresa Colfer. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, September 5, and the jackpot now stands at €4,600.

Deepest Sympathy

It is with deepest regret and profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our most valued club members, supporter, volunteer and underage mentor Ger Murphy.

Our thoughts, prayers and sympathies are with Ger's wife Clara, children Cathal, Faye and Austin, parents Paddy and Millie, brother Michael, sisters Mary and Patricia, extended family and many friends.

The Murphy family have given unwavering support to St Anne's GAA Club over many decades and their loss and ours will be immeasurable.


The new scouting year is upon us. Registration Night is September 13 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. annual Registration Fee of €45 is payable to Head Office, can be paid on the night or over the next few weeks. Beavers 6-8 resume Saturday, September 16, Cubs 9-11 and Scouts 12-15 resume Wednesday, September 20.

Due to increased numbers in Venture Section and following consultation with some youth members it was decided that Ventures will meet every second Saturday. Date to be decided at Planning meeting. Philomena, Jacintha and Martin (Irish Heart Foundation Trained Community Walking Leaders) are delighted to be starting into their fifth year of Strolling.

We start back on Monday, September 4. We will meet at Rathangan Hall at 7 p.m. (The Community Walkway in Rathangan offers a very safe/steady place to walk.) The new Stroller should walk approx 15/20 minutes depending on fitness and the Striders will walk for approx 35-45 mins.

The Charity Drive held in Ballymagyr on Sunday, August 13, was a great success. Thanks to all who contributed and helped in any way. A grand total of €2,265 was raised for Wexford Hospice Homecare.

Sister Act

Rathangan Variety Group are holding an Information Night in main room of Rathangan Hall on WEDNESDAY September 6, 7.30 p.m. for their forthcoming production of 'SISTER ACT' which will be staged in Rathangan Hall from February 14 to February 17, 2018, inclusive. Why not come along on the night to meet our Director and also to find out more about the show. Audition material will be available on the night.

This is a really lively, funny show and both Men and Women are needed for this production. Yoga Classes

Murankin Fundraiser

Following his very successful cabaret last year, the community of Mulrankin are delighted to announce that Michael English and his band will be returning to Clayton Whites hotel this year on Thursday, November 30, in concert with special guest Brendan Shine. Tickets cost €22.50 and it promises to be another great night if last year is anything to go by.

We're very lucky to be part of Michaels concert tour this year, he's starting in the Olympia on October 11 and finishing with us in Wexford on November 30, all his concert tour dates will be advertised nationwide in the national papers and also through his own website so demand is going to be high.

Crafty Sewcialising

Do you own a Sewing machine but don't know how to use it? Then you need sewing classes for complete beginners. This six-week course covers how to operate and maintain machine, use attachments and make simple crafts. Classes start September 13 7-9.30, cost e80. Max six per class. Harvest Festival

In advance of the Harvest Festival Volunteers are needed to do the following: setting up, putting up tents, moving furniture, hanging artwork, safety signs, hang bunting and on the Harvest Festival day volunteers are needed for the tea tent, parking, jam stand, toilets, bins and gates. Gardening Show

All keen gardeners from all over Wexford are invited to compete in this year's Gardening Show. The show will be held in the Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) on September 9 and 10.

Any Flowers, Fruit, and Vegetables can be entered as well as homemade Preserves, Jams, Pot Plants, and Floral arranging, there are special sections for children. New category Best Scarecrow.

TRX/Pilates Classes

The annual coffee morning in aid of Hospice Homecare will be held in Hotel Rosslare, Rosslare Harbour on Thursday, September 14, commencing at 10.30 a.m.
