Music Night at SMC
The legendary Declan Sinnott and Vicki Keating are playing in the Stella Maris Centre on Saturday, November 25, with Rachel Grace playing support. Tickets are selling fast at only €15. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets available from the Stella Maris Centre only. Coffee morning Thanks.
Aoife and Mag Power would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported their coffee morning which was held recently in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare. A big thank you to everyone who helped out on the day, who baked cakes and also to the people who sponsored prizes for the raffle. A total of €1,730 was raised.
Thanks to the wonderful audiences in Piercestown and Carrig-on-Bannow, who supported our one act comedies recently. A special thank you to the committees in both venues for looking after us so well. Rehearsals continue for our festival play 'The Night Alive' and director Breda Hayes and her cast are working very hard. The group would like to extend sympathy to our new member Mary Quirke on the recent passing of her father. May he rest in peace.

Watercolour Workshop - Learn the basics of watercolour techniques in a fun friendly setting. Tutor is well known local artist Maria Murphy. Workshop on Saturday, November 25, in Tomhaggard social centre 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., cost e50 which includes all materials, lunch, tea or coffee. Take home your very own masterpiece. The workshops have started on Thursdays 7.30-9 in Tomhaggard social centre but there's still time to try your hand at acting, directing or backstage. The short course is being run by Ballycogley Players with the support of Creative Ireland funding.

OLI/Tacumshane senior citizens - 'Reserve the date' - Sunday, December 17. for our Christmas party in the Riverbank House Hotel - a great night is promised. GAA bingo is played every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. in Butler's, St Iver's. Jackpot now stands at €700 - come along for your chance to win.
OLI 'Women's Kitchen' Project will have a stall selling their unique handmade Christmas cards at the Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday, November 26, in Hotel Rosslare from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds from this stall will be used to fund future community projects in Our Lady's Island.
Club AGM the OLI GAA Club annual general meeting takes place on Sunday, November 26, at 3 p.m. in OLI Community Centre. All Nomination and Motion Forms to be returned to Rosaleen Keegan, club secretary, Airdownes Great, Broadway by Thursday, November 23. It would be greatly appreciated by the chairman and Executive Committee if as many members as possible could attend the AGM as we look back on 2017 and make important decisions for 2018. Non-members and anyone who would like to get involved in OLI GAA Club are also more than welcome to attend.
Our Lady's Island GAA Club last bingo for 2017 takes place on Sunday, December 10, at 5 p.m. in Butlers. We are also having a 'Mystery Raffle' and all raffle proceeds on December 10 are going to 'Wexford People Helping People' who are providing Christmas dinner for the homeless and those who are alone in St Joseph's Community Centre Wexford on Christmas Day. Looking forward to seeing you all there to support this great cause. There is music in the bar after the bingo.
Our Community Coffee Shop is open every Sunday morning 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for tea and chat and split-the-pot draw. Also for the month of December, we will have stalls, flowers, home-baking, christmas wreaths, centrepieces, crafts, etc starting Sunday, December 3.
Congratulations to Kelly Osbourne, on winning €152 in last week's split-the-pot draw. Draw takes place in the community centre on Sunday after Mass. Thanks to all involved.
ICA guild news
There was a good attendance of memebers at the November meeting recently. Get well wishes were extended to all our friends who are unwell at this time.
The recent coffee morning in aid of Hospice Homecare realised €500 - thanks to all who supported this very worthy cause. Arrangements were made for our Christmas Dinner in the Lobster Pot on December 19, please contact Lila at 9131145.
Mass for deceased members is now arranged for Monday, December 11. Our next coffee morning is on Thursday, November 30. Raffle was won by Dee Devereux and Pattie won the competition.
Norman Way Talk
On Tuesday, November 28, Stafford McLoughlin will deliver a lecture in Wexford Library at 7 p.m. when we can learn about our rich Norman legacy and discover Wexford's amazing hidded medieval history and hear the compelling story of the Normans and their way of life over 800 years ago.
Local Link Wexford provides a bus connection service from Our Lady's Island to Route 387 to Wexford Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. In addition there is a service to Wexford on Wednesdays at 12.40 p.m. Door to door service is available if required. The monthly meeting of Kilrane-Rosslare Harbour ICA took place in the community centre Kilrane on November 1. Ms Kay Creane welcomed everybody to the meeting.
Activities - Bowling has commenced for the winter period and will take place every two weeks. A very enjoyable walk took place in Kilmore Quay followed by refreshments in the Coast Hotel.
Representatives from the guild will attend the Federation meeting in the Ferrycarrig Hotel on Monday, November 27. The Federation luch will take place on February 11, 2018. The guild will have a stall at the Craft Fair in Hotel Rosslare on Sunday, November 26.
Catherine Grogan won the competition for the most unusual teapot. Mary Kiwan won the raffle. The meeting concluded with a beautiful tea served by Betty Halligan and Mary Kirwan.
The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 6, at 8 p.m. in the community centre, Kilrane. New members are always welcome.
Christmas Craft Fair
Keep your eye out n Facebook for a great competition to win Craft Hampers in conjunction with KRH Tops Community Group, who will host a Christmas Craft Fair in Hotel Rosslare on Sunday, November 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Stalls will include handmade Christmas cards and decorations, wood turning, wood crafts, wall decals and dreamcatchers, gift jars, Christmas lighting, handmade wine racks, reindeer food and Christmas eve boxes, glitter jar craft lights, handmade soaps, jigsaws and cuddly toys, lifeboat souvenirs and Christmas cards, photography, knitted gifts, original art, cross stitch kits, delicious home baking, preserves, hot chocolate and cookies, children's decoration workshop, facepainting and baloon modelling, and lots more. The ideal way to stock up on Christmas gifts and stocking fillers..
Mrs Claus and her helpers will be on hand to read stories round the fireside and the children will be able to make and take home decorations for your tree, while you browse. Playpals Children's entertainment will also be there on the day for facepainting and balloon modelling. There will be a special Christmas Barfood Menu available on the day if you fancy a break from the cooking. Remember the Facebook Competition, the prizes can only be collected when you attend the Craft Fair. Shop local for Christmas.
St Paul's AC
Great running from Rob Stirling on Sunday at the Leinster Cross Country Championships in Adamstown where he was competing up an age in the under-13 boys 2500m. He finished in 67th place out of a large field of 131. He was not only representing his club but was also part of the Wexford Team that finished in second place.
Next up for Rob is the National Cross Country Championships in Waterford in December where he will be running as part of the Wexford Team. Great running from this young athlete.
The final date for making payments into this year's Thrift Fund is Saturday, November 25. All cards must also be handed in on the day. We will re-commence on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Local Link Wexford provides a seven-day service to and from Wexford from Rosslare Harbour. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday there is a later service into town departing at 8.30 p.m.
