Adamstown - Shamrock Vintage Club: Come along to the house of story, song and music in Scullys the Maudlins, New Ross on Saturday, January 12, at 9 p.m.

Line Dancing

Line Dancing classes continue in Cushinstown old school every Monday morning 10.30 a.m. This dancing is great way to get and stay fit while losing weight. Come along and see for yourself. There is also a class every Tuesday and Thursday night in Parish Hall Rosbercon New Ross Beginners 7 p.m. For further info on any of these classes please ring Sarah at 087 9792483.

Bree Galbally

National Walk Day 2019

Next Saturday, January 12, is National Walk Day and Bree Hill Walking Trails have been invited by Wexford Walking Trails to host a walk on Bree Hill. This walk is aimed at encouraging people of all ages to get out and walk. The walk of moderate grade will start at 11 a.m. from Bree Community Centre and will be 4.6km long, with the option of a 7km also. The 4.6km walk will take about one hour. We look forward to seeing you there.

Bree Macra

Good luck to the members of Bree Macra taking part in the National semi-final of the Capers competition in Mountmellick Macra Hall on Saturday next, June 12.

Smart Fitness

Smart Fitnes has reopened for 2019 in Galbally Community Centre at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday Evening. Classes 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. are available for only €13 for two or €8pay as you go. Kettlebell Fitness and Circuit Training Classes suitable for all Fitness Levels and all ages. Total Beginners always welcome. Contact Collette at 086 3927655.

Club development draw

New year wishes

Glynn-Barntown GAA, Coiste, camogie, Ladies' Football and Tennis Clubs wish all our members, officers, supporters and friends a prosperous and Happy New Year on and off the playing field.

Fittest athletes

Well done to club stars Mark Fanning, Chloe Cashe, Clodagh Jackman and Emma Walsh, who represented club and county in the very successful Fittest Athletes event in Whites Hotel recently.


Sympathy is extended to the family of Eileen Ennis, Barntown, on Eileen's recent passing. Sympathy is also extended to the family of Tom Kelly, Barntown, who also passed away recently. Condolences also to the family of Martin Ryan, Forest. May they rest in peace.

Scout Group news

Thank you to everyone who sold and bought tickets for the Scout Group National Draw, this results will be known end January and will be published nationally. your support is very much appreciated.

Happy New Year to all members and their families for 2019. On Tuesday, January 8, all sections are going to the panto in the Dun Mhuire, and normal meetings resume on Tuesday, January 15, at 7.30 for cubs and scouts and Thursday for Beavers at 6.30 p.m.

Piercestown Thrift Fund

Piercestown Thrift fund re-opened on Sunday, January 6, at 10.30 a.m. in Knockingall Community Centre, Piercestown. Thrift Fund can also be collected on Tuesday nights at 7.30 in the centre. Contact Jack at 087 6191349.



Kilmore Active Retirement bowls teams will be back in action next week after the festive season break. On Wednesday the 9th the Kilmore Gulls team will be at home to the Ballagh in the Stella Maris Centre at 2 p.m. Kilmore Seals game away to Ferns has been put back to Tuesday the 15th at 2 p.m. in Ferns. We will then have our usual practice on Tuesday the 9th and 15th at 7 p.m. and after these dates our practices will be 2 p.m. on Tuesdays in the SMC.

Active Retirement EGM

Kilmore Active Retirement will hold an extraordinary general meeting on Thursday, January 10, at 7.30 p.m. in the GAA clubrooms. All members and intending members are invited to attend this special meeting.

Information Centre

The Bridgetown Information centre re-opens after the holidays on Monday the 7th at 9 a.m. in the AOH hall. Our opening days and times are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ballycogley Players

The Ballycogley Players will hold a coffee morning and cake sale on Sunday, January 13, in Kilmore Village Hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations of cakes, buns etc would be very much appreciated. Social dancing

The next date for social dancing in Oylegate Community Centre is Sunday, January 13. Music on the night is by 'the lonely little robin' man himself, Pat Daly, who makes a welcome return to Oylegate. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. Admission €8. Come along for a lovely night on music and dance.

5K Family Fun Run/Walk

Oylegate United will host a 5K Family Fun Run and Walk on Sunday, January 13. Registration from 9.30 a.m. at Oylegate Community Centre. Run and Walk starts at 10.30 a.m. Find us on Facebook for more details.

Senior citizens party

The senior citizens party will be held on January 27, in the community centre at 5 p.m. Invitations will be delivered in the next week.

GAA news

Following a great match and win over Graigue/Ballycallan and a man of the match award for Padraic O'Connor our Junior Hurlers will now play Ballinderrin of Galway in the Junior B Leinster final on Saturday the 12th in Killeedy Co. Limerick. We wish manager John Conroy and the team the very best of luck.

A supporters bus is travelling up on the day and if anyone is interested in travelling to the game in Limerick please contact Majella Doran or any committee member.

Walking Track: Commencing Monday, January 7, the top track will be fully lit every Mon/Weds/Friday evening from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. for anyone who wishes to avail of the facility to get fit and healthy for 2019. Unfortunately for health and safety reasons guide dogs only are allowed.

Penny Bank: The club penny bank has resumed for 2019 new members are always welcome, contact any committee member for more details.

GAA Syndicate Draw: Winners for December were John Ryan, Seán Browne Court and Damien Foran/Mary McCauley. Lotto winnings were €113. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year and we look forward to your continued support in 2019.

Local Link Wexford

Local Link Wexford provides secure, reliable and affordable transport for the rural communities of County Wexford. Services are open to everyone and all ages. The services will accommodate those attending appointments, shopping etc. Where possible they will collect passengers from their homes. An information booklet together with timetable is available at the back of the church.

Please note Mass times in Oylegate: Saturday vigil Mass is at 6.30 p.m. Sunday morning Mass is at 10.30 a.m.

Senior citizens Party

The senior citizens Party in the Ballagh will be held on Sunday, January 13, at 12.30 p.m., with the dinner being served at 1 p.m. If anyone has been overlooked and didn't get an invitation or if an invitation has gone astray, please contact Pauline at 087 6864594.

CWCW collection thanks

At the recent church gate collection in the Ballagh, €402 was raised for the Co. Wexford Community Workshop. Thank you to all the generous contributors and well done to those who organised and helped with the collection.

Commit to be Fit

As the 'Race to be Mayor' hots up, the organisers are being most creative, coming up with very interesting ideas. Phil Redmonds team have organised Circuit Training, for all levels of fitness, in the Ballagh Community Centre, on Mondays and Thursdays, starting on Monday, January 7, with a Talk on Healthy Eating and Nutrition from Chloe Carton, with training starting immediately after the talk. The cost is €5 per night or 12 classes for €50.

Having organised a hugely successful 'Truck and Tractor Run' and a Monster table quiz recently, Spongers team will hold a Talent Competition in Marty's Bar, Oulart on January 12. The winners of the Talent Competition will go forward to the Grand Final that will be held at a later date.
