Adamstown: Development Meeting. Cllr Pat Barden is hosting a meeting in Adamstown Community Centre on Thursday, September 5, at 9 p.m. with a view to establishing a Development Committee for the Adamstown Community. The village has recently benefited with positive projects completed by various clubs and committees.
It is imperative for Adamstown to establish a Development Committee in order to capitalize on funding available with the overall aim of enhancing and developing amenities within our village. All individuals, Clubs, Businesses and Organisations are invited to attend this important meeting.
The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the community centre this Friday, August 30, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Catering on Friday the 30th will be Brigid Boland, Edel English and Fiona Power. Catering on Friday, September 6, will be Mary Delaney, Sheelagh, Delaney, Catherine O'Rourke and Elizabeth Greene. Catering on Friday, September 13, will be Catherine Walsh, Eileen N Walsh and Eileen J Walsh. Proceeds going to parish funds.

Congratulations to all the ladies and mentors on their wonderful win in the Wexford Ladies Minor Football Division 2 Final over Clonee on Sunday last on a score line of 7-8 to 3-9. Trailing by a single point at half time the ladies completely turned around their game in the second half outscoring Clonee. Adamstown made sure of victory with two late goals. It was hard luck on the under-14 Adamstown Ladies, who were narrowly defeated by Kilanerin in the under-14 Division 1 Final in Clonee on a score line of 1-8 to 1-6. It was a great game of football between two equally talented teams. In the final couple of minutes Kilanerin snatched the lead. A new boxing club is coming to the Adamstown area opening on Monday, August 26, to new members from ages of 10 and up. Please note that that the moment we only have limited availability and it's filling fast so first come first in. Breda Murray r.i.p.
Our sincere sympathy to the family of Bridget (Breda) Murray, three Woodview Drive, Adamstown and late of Ballycoog, Arklow. Breda daughter of the late Denis and Bridget Murray, Tomfarney, Clonroche is survived by her daughter Deirdre, son-in-law Laurence, sisters, brothers, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St Kevin's Church, Ballycoog on Tuesday last with burial in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.
Pádraig O'Gorman r.i.p.
The death occurred on Monday, August 19, of Pádraig O'Gorman, Ashbrook, Kellystown. To Pádraig's wife Cathy, sons Donal, Michael, Pádraig, daughter Aoife and the late Susan, sister Maureen and the late Bridie, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends our deepest sympathy. Pádraig's funeral Mass was celebrated in St Abban's Church on Thursday last with burial in the adjoining cemetery. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Altars and Decoration: Thanks to parishioners from Newtown/The Leap for looking after the church and Altars for the month of August, it is now the turn of ladies from Tomgarrow for the month of September.
Annual Patron and blessing of Graves: Our annual patron takes place on Sunday next, September 1, with Mass in St Abban's Church at 1.30 p.m. followed by blessing of graves.
'Full Irish' show
Tonight August 27 is the final session for this summer season of 'The Full Irish' show, in association with Celtic Roots in Bree Hall. Tea and scones are served at 8.30 p.m. and the night's entertainment begins at 9 p.m. with music, song, dance and storytelling.

Family Fun Day and Walk
Wexford Academy of Irish Dancing will be hosting a family fun day which will include a 5K colour run/jog/walk on Sunday next, September 1.
The event takes place in Bree Community Centre at 11 a.m. and you can buy your tickets on the day. Registration will be from 9.30 a.m. Tickets are Adult €10 and Child/Student €5. There will be music, a treasure hunt, face painting, refreshments and lots more.
This event is for all ages and all levels of fitness. This promises to be a great day out for all and will greatly support our fantastic local school of dance.
Bree Active Retirement
The September meeting of Bree ARA takes place on Wednesday, September 18, in Bree CC A trip has been arranged for the Arboretum and Rathwood at a date to be confirmed. Community Games News
Well done to all athletes who competed in the National Community Finals recently. Pride of place goes to the under-13 Mixed Relay of Abbie Doyle, Gracie Kehoe, Harry Devereux, Conor McHugh and Jayden Kenny on winning the silver medals.
Individual athletes who made their final were PJ Breen, Abbie Doyle and Leah Nolan. semi-finalists were Ava Wilson, Jayden Kenny and under-10 Relay of Ava Wilson, Ruth Hassey, Hazel Breen, Billy Doyle, PJ Breen and Sam Devereux.
Others taking part were under-12 Relays of Charlie Kehoe, Tom Finn, James Wall and Jack Doyle and Keira Wilson, Maura Doyle, Emma Deegan and Pheena Quigley and the under-16 Relay of Jessica Wickham, Leah Nolan, Donna Delahunty, Lucy Kehoe and Anna Jevans. Shane Laffan of Bree AC and Glynn-Barntown CG won the bronze medal in under-10 Hurdles. Many thanks to their managers Una Doyle and Catriona Breen.
Yoga Classes will take place in Bree Community Centre with Grace Reddington on Monday nights from 8.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. and on Wednesday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. Sessions will begin on Monday, September 16, and continue for six weeks. Please bring your own mat. Cost is €60 for the six weeks or €12 drop in session.
Camross Hall Committee will hold the annual Variety Concert on Sunday, September 29. in Camross Hall starting at 7.30 p.m. Details of programme will be issued closer to the date. We look forward to your support.

GAA club notes
The under-20 hurlers (joined with Adamstown) play in the District Final against Geraldine O'Hanrahans tonight Tuesday (details of venue and time not available at time going to press). Our intermediate footballers are in championship action against Bannow-Ballymitty this Saturday at Wexford Park (time tbc). Finally the under-13 Footballers play Oulart-The Ballagh in Patrick's Park tonight at 6.30. All teams and mentors appreciate your support at these important end of season games.
The lotto jackpot wasn't won last Tuesday night. The next draw takes place on Tuesday, September 3. There were eight match-three winners that shared €200. The jackpot will remain at €14,000 till we get a winner. Please encourage any family or friends living away from the area to support the draw through the new online Taghmon-Camross page on the KlubFunder website. The deadline for online sales is at 6.30 on draw night. The minimum spend on the online system is €6. Call up to the bar in the centre if you miss that deadline. You can buy multi-draw tickets through either option.
Robert Mizzell will be returning to the community centre again on Saturday night after his very successful concert there last summer. Sabrina Farrell will also play on the night. Tickets for the concert cost €15. Log onto our Klubfunder account for online purchases or drop into A & M Hardware in the village if you'd like to buy tickets in advance of the big night. There will be a barbecue on the night and full bar.

Wexford Swimming Club Registration.
Wexford Swimming Club invites you its registration and Swim Assessment evening on August 30 in Ferrybank Swimming Pool from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Children interested should have completed all swimming lessons, be capable of swimming two 25 metre lengths of the pool without stopping and be aged between 7 and 12 years on December 31. The Assessment is for new members only. Please do not contact Wexford Swimming Pool regarding the above registration.

The Wexford Knitting and crochet group will be back from their summer break on Thursday, September 5. We meet up every Thursday at 7 p.m. at St Joseph's Community Centre, Bishopswater. In the local GAA Club members' draw for all-Ireland Hurling tickets Kevin Sinnott and Margaret Leacy were successful while the all-Ireland Football ticket winners were Paul Roche and Martin Redmond.
Our Senior hurlers had a two point win over Naomh Éanna, Gorey last weekend, under lights in Bellefield (one goal 18 points to one goal 16 points) and they need a win over Glynn-Barntown, in the last round, to advance to the last eight of the championship.
Our Intermediate and junior hurlers went down to Tara Rocks and Kilmore respectively.
The under-13 hurlers defeated Glynn-Barntown to qualify for the county final, against St Martin's for the second year in a row. Details of date and venue will be available later. Meanwhile, those same under-13 boys will contest the Football Final on Tuesday, August 27, in St Patrick's Park, versus Taghmon-Camross. The team and mentors would appreciate lots of vocal support.
On the camogie front, the senior team defeated Shelmaliers in the championship last week and will play St Martin's in the next round on Saturday, September 7.
The two GAA Cúl Camps that were held in Oulart were very successful and enjoyable. Thank you to Niall McCrea our GPO for his work co-ordinating the camps and well done to the coaches for their work over the two weeks. The girls and boys had a great time, learning and practising the skills and they are already looking forward to next year's camps.
