Peter Kelly R.I.P.

The sudden and unexpected death of Peter Kelly, Doononey, Adamstown on Wednesday, May 1, caused great sadness in the area. Peter's death is heartbreaking for all the family, particularly for his wife Marian, daughter Emma, her husband Johnny, grandchildren Alannah, Cathal, Caoimhe, his brother Martin, sisters Bridget, Patricia, Helen, Josephine, Frances, Jacinta and Deirdre, his extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Aoife. He is also mourned by his mother-in-law and all of Marian's family.

Peter was very proud of the parish he lived in. He was one of the founder members of Adamstown Community Alert, being concerned for the senior people in the parish. Peter was a member of many committees, and on the parents' association in Coláiste Abbáin for many years. He was involved with the Show Committee, Parish Committee and the Cemetery Committee and many other occasions he was ready and willing to give a hand with whatever was happening in Adamstown.

Peter had his final repose at his home in Doononey, attended by a large number of relatives and friends, some who had travelled great distances to be with the family. A huge funeral cortege accompanied his remains to St Abban's Church on Saturday, May 4, for his funeral Mass at 2 p.m., following Mass Peter was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

We feel that it is a big honour for Wexford, and we are asking for your support over the next few months to keep our town looking beautiful and litter-free. Judging will take in place in May 2019 and we would really appreciate the help of everybody in the community to achieve success in this competition.

We would encourage everybody to keep their own area litter-free, dog owners to clean up after their dogs, and to bring rubbish home rather than littering the town. We thank you in advance for your co-operation.
