Enrolments: we have 74 applications for the 2019/2020 academic year. Any further applications will be placed on a waiting list. Applications are now being accepted for 2020/2021.
Well done to Grace, our student, who completed a skydive on Saturday, October 27, and raised €900 in aid of Pieta House. Well done to the Spooktacular Fancy Dress event on last day of term, all money raised went to Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin.
Kindling for Sale
The members of the Shamrock Men's Shed are selling bags of kindling for only €1.50 per bag. If you would like to buy kindling, the Men's Shed is in Raheen Family Resource Centre every Monday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Raheen FRC is hosting a coffee break and bingo in Adamstown Community Centre. Tuesday, November 27, 10.30 to 12.30. And Tuesday, December 18. Every three weeks for older members of the community. Cost is €3 all are welcome.
Newbawn Development Group are delighted to announce that the building work will soon be finished on the hall development. They are very happy with the job done and can't wait to show off the modernised building to the community. They wish also to announce that fundraising will also soon be coming to an end, and if anyone else would like to be part of the 'buy a block' unique fundraiser the Newbawn Development Facebook page can be visited for further information.

ICA Guild news
The ladies in Adamstown ICA Guild would like to thank most sincerely anyone who helped make the recent sponsored walk such a success. All those who walked, or sponsored walkers, gave donations of cash and food or helped in other ways. So far you helped raise in excess of €800 all which goes towards the senior citizens Christmas party. The party will be on Sunday, December 2, in the Horse and Hound, Ballinaboola. Invitations will be issued shortly.
The ICA monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 14, in Adamstown Community Centre at 8 p.m. Guest speaker on the night will be Nicola from Adamstown Pharmacy, who will give a talk on skin care and products. The competition for Wednesday night is a Christmas table arrangement with candle. Any ladies thinking of joining our guild are welcome to come along, and see if you would be interested in becoming a member. You can be assured of a warm welcome.
Our condolences to John Sugrue and family, Tomgarrow on the death of his father Michael, who died on Sunday, November 4, after a long illness. Michael was predeceased by his wife Bernie.
Michael and his wife Bernie came to live in Doononey after been many years in England, they then moved to Fairfields View, Adamstown, where they were much loved.
Michael and Bernie treasured there London connections and there relations and friends who lived there and were so happy when they came to visit them. They also loved their grandchildren. Sympathy also to his sons Michael, Vincent and Eamon, his extended family, relation, friends and neighbour.
His funeral Mass took place on Wednesday, November 7, in St Abban's Church with burial afterwards in St Abban's Cemetery. May his kind soul rest in peace.

Free Christmas Event Day
Raheen FRC is organising a Free Christmas Cookery and Wreath Making Day in Adamstown Community Centre on Monday, December 10, and in Raheen Community Centre on Friday, December 14. Cookery takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wreath Making takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. For further information or to book a space contact 051 442888. Places are limited so book early.
Christmas Craft Fair
Galbally Community Centre will host a Christmas Craft Fair on Sunday, December 2, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a number of local crafters in attendance with numerous gift ideas. Come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, bring the kids to see Santa, and meet friends and neighbours while supporting your local community centre. Some tables still available. The AGM of Galbally Community Playschool Committee will take place on Tuesday, November 20, at 8 p.m. in Galbally National School. Everyone is very welcome to attend.
Bree Active Retired
The next meeting of Bree Active Retired Association takes place on Wednesday, November 21. We remind everyone to return the red cards at this meeting. Our Christmas lunch is booked for December 19 in the Riverside. Enquiries to 086 0747823.
Bingo takes place on every Tuesday at 9 p.m. in Byrnes of Bree. Jackpot this week is €400 and will continue to rise till it's won. All ages are welcome on the night.

Leisure Club anniversary
The committee of Galbally Sports and Leisure Club would like to invite you to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the hall taking place on December 8 in the Sports and Leisure Club. It promises to be a spectacular night with entertainment including music, dancing, and storytelling with instrumental pieces and ballads. Licensed Bar on night. Free entry. Strictly over-18s only.
Bree AC Outdoor Training takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays in the lower GAA field from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for all athletes over eight years of age.
The committee of Galbally Sports and amp; Leisure Club have recently secured a grant under the town and Village Renewal Scheme amounting to €100,000 to refurbish the hall and grounds. Members of the community are invited to an EGM on Sunday, December 9, at 7 p.m. to bring new members to the committee to become involved in the refurbishment and development of Galbally Hall.

Hard luck to our minor camogie team defeated by Oulart-The Ballagh in a play off for a semi-final spot in the Premier championship last Monday morning. The girls have another bite at the cherry when they complete the three way play off away v Bunclody on Sunday, November 11.
Coiste na nog
Hard luck to our under-15 footballers who were unfortunately defeated by Naomh Eanna Gorey in the premier final on in St Patrick's Park last weekend 2-6 to 2-3.
Well done to our under-14 Hurlers, who had a comfortable win over St Martin's in the Martin Storey League on Sunday morning.
Our under-20 footballers were knocked out of the championship at quarter final stage last weekend when they were beaten by Shelmaliers.

Barntown Heritage Group
Barntown Heritage Group have recently formed as a group which consists of a number of local volunteers. We are all about promoting and developing awareness of the huge depth of history within Barntown from famous events, historical structures and local people.
To achieve this we hope to work on a number of projects each year. At the moment we are working on resurrecting the Three Rocks Trail. This trail takes you through a historical journey of the famous three Rocks 1798 battle which was a huge part of the 1798 rebellion.
We will be adding information about our group's plans and progress on the Barntown.ie website. We are always looking for anyone interested in getting involved and would be delighted to hear from you.
