Adamstown: Cards. The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the community centre this Friday, March 29, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Catering on Friday the 29th will be Marian Kelly, Catherine J Kelly, Catherine L Kelly and Mary Fortune. Catering on Friday, April 5, will be Eleanor Smyth, Emma Staunton and Bernie Conway. CAtering on Friday, April 12, will be Breda Whelan, Deirdre Whelan and Bessie Fortune. Proceeds going to parish funds.

Card winners on Friday, March 15, were Terry McDonald, Pat Byrne, Matty Sullivan, Pat Murphy, Richie Murphy, Paddy Finn, Phil Jackman and Kay Whelan.

Adamstown lotto

The winning numbers in the Adamstown lotto draw on Monday, March 18, were: 5, 8, 9, 18. There was no jackpot winner. The following two players matched three numbers and each received €100: Michelle Doyle, Bree and John Devereux, Courthoyle. The next draw is on Friday, March 29, in the community centre for a jackpot of €4,600.

Spina Bifida collection.

The annual Spina Bifida church gate collection will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 6/7. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Annual Lourdes Draw

Tickets are currently being sold in the parish for our annual Lourdes Draw which takes place on Sunday, April 14. Hopefully, we will be able to send three parishioners on the pilgrimage to Lourdes in May. Draw confined to Adamstown Parish. Any household may purchase up to four tickets and your continued support is very much appreciated.

Pat Byrne Road Run

There will be a meeting Tuesday, April 2, in the community centre to make the final arrangements for the Pat Byrne Memorial Road Run on Sunday, April 7. Registration at 11.30 a.m. start at 1 p.m. All vehicles welcome. Total proceeds to Adamstown Parochial Funds.

Split-the-pot Draw

The next split-the-pot draw will be this Wednesday, March 27, in the school. Envelopes €2 in Cullen's Gala, Adamstown Pharmacy, Brad Óg's Pub and Chipper and in the school. Thanks for your support.

Adamstown Tidy Towns

Reminder of the Spring Clean 2019 taking place locally. Adamstown Tidy Towns will have Bags, Gloves etc., available to collect at Cullen's Gala from this Monday, March 25. Tomi Reichental

Raheen Family Resource Centre is delighted to be hosting the renowned author, person of the year recipient and Holocaust survivor Tomi Reichental in Raheen Community Centre on Wednesday, April 24, at 8 p.m.

Tomi is an inspirational speaker and gives a very honest account of his time as a captive in Bergen Belsen Concentration Camp between 1944 and 1945. He has received many awards for his work and tireless efforts to promote tolerance and to educate people about the importance of remembrance and reconciliation and it has made him one of the most inspirational figures in modern Ireland. All are welcome to come along and listen to his story.

Coffee Break and Bingo

Raheen Family Resource Centre is hosting a Coffee Break and bingo morning in Adamstown Community Centre on Tuesday, March 26, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for older members of the community. The cost is Euro five and all are welcome.

Hands for Life

'Hands For Life' Free CPR training will be available in Camross Hall on Monday, April 8, There will be three, one hour sessions running from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. These free one hour sessions offer basic CPR skills training in your community and is delivered by an experienced Irish Heart Foundation instructor. Participants must be over 18 and no assessment or certification is included. Booking is required at Handsfor Life.ie. Wexford PPN has come on board to offer this training. Wexford Walking Trails is holding a spring walk in Carrigbyrne commencing at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, So get your walking boots our and be ready for the off.

Meals Delivery

A Meals Delivery Service is available from Raheen FRC This takes place every Tuesday in Raheen, Clonroche, Adamstown and Newbawn area. This service is available to people of any age from the community who would like a meal to be delivered to their home. The service can be used for a short term if necessary, for example when somebody is recovering from surgery or illness. Anyone wishing to avail of this service please contact Kay at 051 428805.

LOCH GARMAN BAND - The Loch Garman Senior Band will play in Clonard Church at 6 p.m. Mass on Saturday, March 30. This performance features soloists Anthony Nolan (Cornet) and Seán Clancy (Euphonium). Both performances will be led by musical director John Clancy.

Na Fianna Clonard

Our Quiz Night took place Thursday, March 14, in Wexford Golf Club, it was a great night for the club. Congratulations to St Mary's the winners on the night, who retained their title from last year, and to second place the Fianna Failers. Thank you to all who donated or sponsored spot prizes. Clonard Guiding Unit

Our Guides had great fun at their great guide bake off and sleepover last weekend. The Brigins loved taste testing the cakes too. There's a teddy bears picnic for the Cygnets. A hike to the Heritage Park and a visit into the park for the Brigins, Guides and Rangers. A 40th birthday party for the Brigins and that's only what's happening in March. Watch out for more events for April. We have a lot planed.

This year is the 70th Anniversary of Macra Na Feirme in County Wexford.
