Adamstown: Raheen Calendar 2020 - A calendar titled 'Statia's Snaps' Memories of Raheen post office' is now on sale.
The calendar comprises of photos taken primarily by the late Statia Murphy, spanning across four decades, these photos feature many local faces and is a great keepsake or gift. Costing €10 with all proceeds in aid of Raheen senior citizen's Christmas party.
The calendar will be available for sale after all weekend Masses in Raheen or can be purchased from any committee member. Contact Séamus at 086 6014837 or Shane at 087 1335582.
The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the community centre this Friday, November 22, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Catering on Friday, November 22, will be Ann Marie Mackey, Ann Redmond and Catherine Furlong. Catering on Friday, November 29, will be Ellie Walsh and Stella Delaney. Catering on Friday, December 6, will be Cáit Bradley, Josephine Hendrick and Betty O'Shea. Catering on Friday the 13th will be Mary Kirwan, Lorna Komsa and Betty Cullen. Proceeds going to parish funds.

Adamstown NS News cake sale hosted by Adamstown NS parents' association along with the students council in the school hall on Thursday the 21st from 9.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. Split-the-pot draw this Wednesday, November 20. envelopes available costing €2 in Cullen's Gala, Adamstown Pharmacy, Brad Óg's Pub and Chipper and in the school. Thanks to everyone who donated clothes for clothes recycling fundraiser on Thursday last and also those who supported our wooden on the November Remembrance Tree in St Abban's Church. Your support is greatly appreciated.
St Abban's GAA
The Big Breakfast morning took place on Sunday, November 10, in Adamstown Community Centre. It was a very sociable occasion and received wonderful support from the community. Thank you to anyone who supported the event in any way - Adamstown ICA, Adamstown Community Centre, O'Neill's Foods, Gerard and Mary Kelly. Sponsorship - (Pettit's, Enniscorthy and Glanbia), everyone who attended the breakfast, gave donations and the fantastic team of workers from all areas of the club.
Congratulations to the Adamstown under-13 Hurlers, who won the New Ross Standard under-13 hurling Division 4 Shield by defeating St Patrick's 4-7 to 2-5. The team was: Conall Doyle, Alex Roche, Philip Wickham, Charles Kent, Martin Sinnott, Matthew Dunleavy, Seán Murray, Richard Whelan, Conor Curtis, Charlie Purcell, Ross English, Oisin McManus, Thomas McDonald, Frankie O'Brien, Watt Crean, Subs: Alfie White, Joe Whelan, Matthew Myers, Paddy Cash, Darragh Guinan and Luke Siggins.

West Side Story
The Musical 'West Side Story' opens in St Michael's Theatre, New Ross this Tuesday, November 19, and continues till Saturday the 23rd. Among the cast are James Dobbs and Anthony Finn, both work in Cullen's Gala by day, but nighttime - it's a whole different world. Best wishes lads for a wonderful show.
The November Masses in St Abban's Church will take place as follows: Monday, November 18 - Tomgarrow, Misterin, Rathkyle, Adamstown, Coolnagaree. Tuesday, November 19 - Oldcourt, Brocurra, Doononey, Woodview Drive. Wednesday, November 20 - Newtown, The Leap, Knockreigh, Coonogue Thursday, November 21 - Kellystown, Chapel, Raheenduff, The Barracks. Friday, November 22 - Glenour, Ballyvergin, Rathsilla, Fairfields. Saturday, November 23 - For all who died during the year. Mass in St Abban's Oratory will be celebrated at 7.30 p.m. each evening.
All present will receive a candle which will be left lighting before the Blessed Sacrament after Mass. Please return your envelopes as soon as possible, an offering is optional. You are welcome to attend every night or any other night.
St Vincent de Paul collection
The annual collection in aid of St Vincent de Paul will take place after Masses in Adamstown Church on Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8. We would ask people to be as generous as possible please, bearing in mind that all money collected stays in the local area to help those who are in need.
The monthly meeting of the guild was held in the community centre on Wednesday, November 13. The president Helen Furlong welcomed everyone. After the business of the meeting was done with it was down to finalising details of the senior citizens Christmas party, on Sunday, December 8, in the Horse and Hound at 6 p.m. Invitations will be out next week and anyone who doesn't receive an invite and is eligible to attend please contact any ICA member, or Helen at 086 3454036.
Many thanks to all who supported our sponsored walk in aid of Christmas party and those who gave us donations. Total raised was €1,161 and will all go towards the party. Congratulations to Eileen Thorpe and Eleanor Power, who represented the guild at the ICA Bowling Competition in Wexford Leisure Max and were on the team who came second. The competition for Autumnal Arrangement of Foliage in a jam jar was won by Frances Gallagher, who goes on to represent the guild at the Federation meeting November 25 in the Riverbank Hotel Wexford. Raffle was won by Eileen Thorpe. Twelve guild ladies are attending the musical West Side Story, in New Ross next week.
A lovely tea was served by hostesses Cait Bradley and Liz Furlong, thank you ladies. A big thank you to all the ICA ladies for the wonderful response to the appeal for toiletries, clothing etc, for the Women's Refuge, we have a huge hamper of goods to deliver thanks to you're generosity. Next meeting Tuesday, December 10. Don't forget we love to welcome new members.

Barntown Community Centre
An open invitation is extended to the more senior members of our community, for a free coffee morning and Social Gathering. Please come along to share ideas and have a chat about things you might like to see happening in our Community Centre. Guests to our school: TD James Browne visited our school on Monday, November 11, and we now look forward to a visit from TD Brendan Howlin on Monday the 25th.
On the pitch: Our boys played Piercestown in the final of the Rackard league A Football - losing out narrowly in an epic encounter. Well done to all concerned.
Well done to the boys who have qualified for the final of the Mini Sevens and which is scheduled for Tuesday evening, November 19.
The girls Mini Sevens team lost out narrowly in the semi-final stages.
Our Rising Stars team play Bannow in the semi-final on Monday, November 18, at 2 p.m. in Killurin.
Science week: Our fourth class visited Teagasc as part of Science Week.
Radio Show: Shauna O'Reilly from the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show will be in school on Tuesday, November 19, to talk to the children. She will be recording for a show at a later date.
School Calendar: Alan Roche Photography have produced a 2020 calendar to support the school development fund again this year. Last year's calendar was an enormous success so we hope you will support it again this year. The calendar is a high quality, ringbound A3 size, with photos from Glynn and the surrounding areas. A copy is also available to view on the Glynn NS website. The cost of the calendar will be €10 payable on collection.
Other activities: Congratulations to Izzy in sixth class who came second in Ireland in Gymnastics. Also congratulations to Aoife in sixth class who was seventh in the Leinster Cross Country running. She has qualified for the all-Ireland Championships.
Killurin Rowing Club
Table quiz in Marty's Pub in Killurin on Friday, December 6, start time 9 p.m. Raffle and quiz prizes. Table of four for €40. Owing to the success of last year's event, we will be hosting another 'Little Christmas' tea party and cake sale after Mass on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

It's only four weeks away. An invitation will go to each child in the parish to bring the figure of the baby Jesus from their crib to weekend Masses to have Him blessed before Christmas. An olive wood Christmas tree decoration - which I blessed at Mass in Bethlehem recently - will be given to each child at the Mass. Festive gatherings are planned for both Glynn and Barntown after the 10 a.m. and 11.15 a.m. Masses on the day. Updates will be posted here. Parents and grandparents are invited to begin discussion of the celebration with their children and grandchildren.
Word of thanks
Much gratitude goes to teams on both sides of the parish for their work in welcoming the recently bereaved to the 10 a.m. and 11.15 a.m. Masses last weekend with refreshments. Both occasions highlight the care that lies at the heart of community here in Glynn-Barntown and the genuine thoughtfulness and warmth of so many of our people. Gratitude to Ms Cleary for the wonderful singing of the children's choir at the 11.15 a.m.

Galbally Craft Fair
Galbally Community Centre will host a Christmas Craft Fair, on Sunday, November 24, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lots of local crafters will be in attendance with almost 20 tables already booked in with numerous gift ideas from a variety of vendors.
Come and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, bring the kids to see Santa, and meet friends and neighbours while supporting a local community centre. Some tables still available.
