Ballymore-Mayglass: Wamboree 2019 - Kilmore Scouts are hosting this year's Co Charity Camp in Kilmore Quay June 21 to June 23. Net proceeds are going to RNLI and Wexford Marine Watch.
The concept of Wamboree is for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Scouters come together for a fun filled weekend of minimal/cost neutral activities where everyone pays a fee to camp in the outdoors while raising money for charity. The previous Wamboree Camp in Kilmore three years ago raised over e2000 for Trócaire Syrian Refugees Fund. More details closer to the date.
The Wexford Ladies Choir are holding their summer concert in the Talbot Hotel on Friday, June 7, at 8 p.m. This promises to be an entertaining evening with guest artists Chris Currid and Yvette Walsh. Tickets are €10 each, available at the door.

Congratulations to Ballycogley man Frank Staples, who retained his seat at the recent Local County Council elections. Having stepped into uncharted waters in the new Rosslare LEA Frank was unsure of how he would fair but his with his hard working team behind him he comfortably reached a quota on the distribution of Ger Carthys surplus. All Blacks AFC
Split-the-pot draw results as follows for Monday the 27th held in the Halfway Pub. Combined winners Celine/Eoin and Paul Cummins with a prize of €225. Next week's draw is on in the Coopers Inn Killinick on Tuesday, June 4, 19. Your support is greatly appreciated.

St Fintan's Ladies
Big well done to our under-12 girls who played host to St Anne's in the second round of the under-12 division two league and came away winners with a great team performance from all 18 girls involved... well done girls. Big thanks Nicky for sorting pitch.

Deepest condolences to the Fanning Family on the passing of our club man Larry, who has had so many roles during his time in Grantstown and was a dedicated member. His tasks involved chairman, secretary, Trainer, Selector, player and president. Never to shy away from work he was always involved in the heavy grafting and day to day activities in the club. He started his playing career in 1954 and was a jubilous winner of the junior team who won in 1956.
Deepest sympathy to the family of Larry Fanning, who passed away last week. Larry was 86 years old and is survived by his brothers Seán and Jimmy sister Annie and the late Matt, Paddy, Bridie, Sonny, Tom, Maggie and Mary. His wife Clare predeceased him. He will be sadly missed by his loving family nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He reposed at his residence on Wednesday, May 29, from 12oc-8 p.m. with removal on Thursday the 30th to the Church of Mary Immaculate and St Joseph Carrig-on-Bannow for funeral Mass at midday and burial afterwards in Kilcaven cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Tomi Reichental was born in Slovakia in 1935. At the age of nine he was captured and deported along with 12 family members to a concentration camp.
As one of only three Holocaust survivors living in Ireland, Tomi is mindful that the horrors of the Holocaust will soon pass from memory to history. Words from Paddy Fitzgibbon (Memorial at Listowel, Co. Kerry) 'Our generation, and the generation after us, will be the last that will be able to say that we stood and shook the hands of some of those who survived.' Tomi is on a mission of remembrance and we are honoured here in Grantstown Community Village that Tomi has agreed to come to share his unbelievable story with us and our community. Please come and join us on Friday, July 19, at 7.30 p.m. to listen to Tomi's chilling and shocking story…yet remember we are so privileged to hear about his journey and what a piece of history it is. Our Lady's Island Tractor and Vintage Run will take place on Sunday, June 9, in Our Lady's Island village, in aid of Scoil Mhuire, Broadway. Registration from midday in Community Centre. Run commences at 1 p.m. Refreshments available from midday. Children's entertainment from 1.15 to 3.15.
Gary Dickson Memorial Service
A service will be held on Sunday, June 16, at 2 p.m. in St Peter's Church, Kilscoran in memory of Gary Dickson. Gary, eldest son of Fred and Flo Dickson, brother os Melissa and Nigel, passed away in February in Australia.
The GAA bingo continues every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. in OLI Community Centre. The jackpot stands at €625. Come along and try your luck.

Coffee morning - Thank You
The Cousins family would like to thank everyone who came and supported our coffee morning on Sunday, May 5, in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare. Thanks to all who helped, baked, gave donations, for those who sponsored prizes, for the raffle and for the use of Kilmore Community Hall. A total of three €639.80 was raised for this great cause.
Bridgetown College is now accepting applications for an interesting new Post-Leaving Certificate course in Information Processing, which is due to commence in September 2019. Successful candidates will complete Work Experience placements every Monday, attend college on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and Friday will be free for the completion of assignments, projects etc.
