Ballymore-Mayglass: Wamboree - The Scout Fundraising Camp takes place in Kilmore Quay June 21 to June 23. All proceeds are going to RNLI and Wexford Marine Watch.
The aims of the Camp are to provide a low-cost/cost neutral programme where youth members aged 6-18 and Scouters can enjoy a fun weekend with Camp fees being donated to charity. Seven groups from Co Wexford are taking part in the event.
We very much appreciate the assistance of Kilmore Quay Development Association, Stella Maris Centre and local community in facilitating the camp.
All of the activities will take place around the village, beach, burrow and Stella Maris Centre with additional pedestrian activity. Peak traffic times are Friday p.m. 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. arrival of groups, Sat 9.10 a.m. Beaver arrivals, Sunday 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. camp departure. We look forward to welcoming scouting families to the seaside village and appreciate your assistance and co-operation.
Are you interested in a short drama project based on our local heritage and culture? The project will involve writing a drama piece drawn from our rich culture and heritage and to do a public performance. lt is open to the whole community to be involved. All Blacks AFC
Massive well done to our fantastic girls on a Gaynor Cup Bowl win in Limerick with our own Ashling Roche getting the first and Aoibheann Rankin with a superb injury time winner doing the trick. Well done, girls. Calendar Schoolboys soccer.
Following a delegate meeting a vote was taken as to the future of calendar soccer, there was a unanimous vote to revert back to winter soccer, the league committee will decide as to which way this season will end, there were plenty of suggestions from the delegates. We will keep you all posted with any news.
Club and County Draw
The second in the series of three draws in the CLG Loch Garman Club and county fundraiser was held on May 29 with 50 prizes in total but sadly supporters of the St Fintan's club failed to feature on the list of winners. The third and final draw will be held on June 26 and we wish our loyal supporters the best of good luck.
Nicky Byrne of Pettitt's SuperValu St Aidan's will be visiting the St Fintan's GAA clubgrounds in Ballymore on Wednesday, June 12, at 6.30 p.m. approximately to present each member of the nursery group of underage players of St Fintan's/Our Lady's Island with a football each. Please come along to support our young stars of the future.
The local guild held its most recent meeting on June 4 with its president Joan Furlong and eighteen fellow members present. Final arrangements were made for a special occasions day which was held in Kilanerin on June 6 and arrangements were also made for the guilds outing on August 7 the competition winners were first Lish McDonnell second Joan Furlong and 3RD Teresa Pettit and the competition for the next meeting on September 2 is for the handiest kitchen gadget. The hostesses were Lish McDonnell and Margo Finn and the hostesses for the September meeting are Kathleen Nolan and Breda Wright. Memorial service for the late Anna Lett was held in Bree.
The adult hurling team suffered a narrow 1-13 to 0-13 defeat at the hands of Rathgarogue-Cushionstown in the EEW All County hurling league div.5 while the football team was fixed to travel to Bree on Friday last to take on Ballyhogue in the All county football league div.2 with the result not yet available.
The Killinick Project
The committee was awarded a €550 a.m. enity grant from Wexford County Council which will help to continue the development of the current on going voluntary works for the village. A number of smaller grants have also been applied for which will help fund the future projects that will continue to enhance the village.

GAA club news
Lotto draw this Tuesday evening with a jackpot of €13,100. Tickets are Two euro each and can be purchased from Doyle's Carrig, Seabreeze drycleaners, Staffords Tullycanna, Costcutters, Wallace's hardware, The Homeplace, Tír na nÓg and from any Club Officer in Grantstown.
The second Model County draw took place last Wednesday and the club had no winners in either of them.
The club games are quiet at the moment due to exams and county championship games on.
Thanks to all who supported the Ladies' Football Club recently on the door in Wallace s. Congratulations to our winners Food Hamper Kathleen White, Drinks Hamper Marie O'Connor and Winnie the Pooh went to Farragh Whelan.

Monster Drive In Bingo
A Monster Drive In Bingo takes place on Sunday, August 18, at 3 p.m. in Grantstown Community Village. €1,500 in prize money to be won plus a Monster Raffle. Tea, coffee and homemade confectionery being served.
A free Imagination Gym workshop will be held each Tuesday in Grantstown Daycare Centre till July 9 with our fully trained staff. All you have to do is lie or sit in a warm, comfortable space and listen to a guided 30 minute meditation. You will wander along a forest path, meet a deer and stop at a wishing well.
This therapy is excellent for insomnia, stress management and promotes creative problem solving. This workshop is available to everyone in the community, however places are limited, so if you would like some more information or would like to book your place phone 051 561016.

Post-Leaving Certificate course in Information Processing Bridgetown College is now accepting applications for an interesting new Post-Leaving Certificate course in Information Processing, which is due to commence in September 2019. Successful candidates will complete Work Experience placements every Monday, attend college on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and Friday will be free for the completion of assignments, projects etc. The course includes eight modules to be completed over the year, which will result in a full Level 5 QQI Certificate.
