Ballymore-Mayglass: Ballycogley Hall - The hall committee are delighted to welcome back the Ballycogley Players to Ballycogley Hall with their performance of their one-act plays on Saturday, November 9, at 8.15 p.m.

This weekend is another busy one for us as we travel to Ballycogley Hall where our performances take place on Saturday, November 9 (start time 8.15 p.m.). After a few hours rest, our next destination is Carrig-on-Bannow on Sunday, November 10, with curtain up at 8 p.m. The 2020 line up for the full-length festival play 'Dreamland' by Jim Nolan is now complete and the director along with the cast and crew will travel to Rush, Kildare, Ballinamore, Wexford, Shercock, New Ross, Carnew and Holycross. Hectic but fun times ahead. Congratulations to fellow group member Pauline Doyle Hogan, who will go on the three act festival circuit with Camross drama group in their production of the 'Year of the Hiker'.
St Fintan's AGM
St Fintan's Club AGM will take place on Friday, November 29, in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. Nominations for club officers along with motions for consideration should be emailed to club secretary no later than November 18. Email email@example.com.
It is 50 years since St Fintan's GAA Club reached three county finals in the one season; Junior hurling final, junior football final and under-20 football final. In recognition of this tremendous achievement, the club wishes to invite all players involved in the 1969 teams to join in an evening of reminiscing and chats in the Merry Elf, Killinick on Friday, November 8, The club invites members and supporters to join us on the night to hear the many stories of heroic antics on the field 50 years ago while also celebrating the many memories of the past 50 years.
There will be a fundraising Fashion Show in the Riverbank House Hotel on Tuesday, November 12, with doors open at 7.30 p.m. Tickets cost €12.50 (including a glass of prosecco on arrival). Clothes from Pamela Scott, Brendan Corcoran, Barnados Bridal, Charley's and Clothesline will be modelled on the night. The proceeds from which will go towards the Tomhaggard social centre and Women's Shed. Tickets on sale and are available at 087 2840272 and from committee members.
Annual cake sale
Our annual cake sale and raffle in aid of the day-to-day running of our parish in Ballymore-Mayglass will be held on Saturday evening, November 30, before and after Mass in Mayglass at 7.30 p.m. ,and on Sunday morning Mass in Ballymore at 10 a.m. Donations of confectionary would be very much appreciated. Your continued support is welcomed.
Congratulations to Shelley Ann Quilty-Lake, daughter of Bob and Eleanor Quilty, Mount Pleasant, Killinick, whose achievements to date are too numerous to mention but we are pleased to congratulate her on her most recent achievement - an Ambassador's Medal at the Belfast Homecoming 2019. Shelley Ann is a great ambassador for the tiny parish of Ballymore-Mayglass.

Kilmore was the venue on bank holiday Monday last where the St Fintan's/Our Lady's Island under-15 football team played Horeswood in the semi-final of the Gorey Guardian football championship Roinn one, hoping to set up a meeting with Bunclody in the final. Though failing in their efforts, these young lads gave a sterling display only to be narrowly beaten by a more physically strong Horeswood team. The under-20 football team got its season under way in Killurin on Saturday last when it took on Glynn-Barntown in the Greenstar football championship with the result not available at this time.
Euro Millions Syndicate
Many thanks to all those for signing up for our club syndicate. We entered our first draw on October 15 with a quick pick, these quick pick numbers will be our numbers for the duration of the draw. The numbers are line 1: 10, 22, 34, 35, 50 and lucky stars 2, nine.
Line 2: 1, 6, 13, 41, 44 and lucky stars 6, 10. The syndicate will play every Tuesday and Friday with the last draw on October 9, 2020. Fingers and toes crossed. The club is very pleased to be able to provide its community walking track at the club grounds in Ballymore for the fundraising Action Breast Cancer walk in conjunction with Kiely Centra Killinick.

All Blacks AFC
The latest news on the Gaynor Cup Competitions for 2020. Both U13 and 15 Gaynor Cup Tournaments have been moved to the last week in July 2020. The final blitz of the U12 tournament will also be pushed back to this week with the regional qualifiers just before the summer (date to be confirmed). This is due to the Euro 2020 in June. WexfordWSSL will be starting their LTC training in mid November due to this change in the finals tournament. More information will go out to clubs.
Men's B team had a super 4-0 win against a strong Adamstown team to keep them in the title hunt. In a hard-fought game goals from Robert Cogley, Jack Doyle, Mark Sinnott and Fionn Byrne gave the lads the valuable three points. The A team dropped their first points of the season drawing 2-2 away to Rathnure. Both goals scored by Shane Cassidy.
Well done to all the lads and management. Well done to our under-12 girls' team who travelled this morning to Rosslare strand and came out 8-3 winners, making it two out of two in under-12 Region D, with goals from Jolie (4), Ava (2) and one each for Sinéad and Eva. Well done to all 10 girls involved.
Meetings resume after the Hallowe'en break for Cubs, Scouts and Ventures on Wednesday, November 6, from 7-8.30 p.m. and Saturday, November 9, for Beavers from 10-11.30 a.m. The County Orienteering for all sections will take place on November 17 at Bree Hill. Details closer to the event.
Senior's Christmas Party
The Ballymore-Mayglass Senior's Christmas party will be held in the Coast Hotel, Rosslare on Sunday, December 1, at 2 p.m. Tickets will be distributed in the coming weeks. Also tickets for the parish council Christmas Draw will be available. Th.e draw will take place on December 15 in Ballymore. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Our Lady's Island
The monthly Healing Mass and blessing with Fr Jim Cogley will be celebrated in Our Lady's Island Church this Wednesday, November 6, at 3 p.m.
Parents who have youth in the club must attend an Induction Training night this Wednesday, November 6, at 7 p.m. in the centre. If parents do not attend then we won't have enough leaders to keep the Youth Club going as parents cannot help on rota without this training. Hope you can make it.

A coffee morning in aid of Holles St Neo-Natal Unit takes place in Our Lady's Island Community Centre on Suday next, November 10, at 11.30 a.m. Face painting and cup-cake decorating for children.

Light up Lady's Island
Our first time ever to 'Light up Lady's Island'. We are having a big Christmas Market day on Sunday, December 1 from noon to 6 p.m. with all kinds of stalls, handmade gifts, games, music and dancing and of course Santa will be arriving by unusual transport to turn on the lights and bring the whole community together. Cleariestown Community Playgroup will be having a Fundraising used clothing collection on Monday, November 25. You can drop off any items at the playschool any weekday morning between 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. All proceeds from this collection will go directly to the parish council to help with the running costs of our playroom within the community centre. The Village Christmas
The annual Village Christmas will be held on Friday, December 13, in Kilrane-Rosslare Harbour at 7 p.m. Lighting up of the Community Christmas Lights in both Kilrane and Rosslare Harbour will take place courtesy of Enda Murphy. Join in with KRH Tops Community Group, RHK Environment Group and Rosslare Harbour Men's Shed to sing carols around the Christmas Tree in the Memorial Park. Take part in a Lifeboat Rememberance Ceremony, sample our free mulled wine and watch Santa arrive to the Hobbit House in the Secret Garden via the magical twinkling garden walk, with surprises along the way. A gift for every child in a magical setting, €3 per child and adults free. Followed by hot chocolate and cookies, tea, coffee and home baking for sale and Christmas music and games with a Monster Raffle held by a welcoming open fire in a beautifully decorated Hotel Rosslare. Rosslare Harbour RNLI
The Rosslare Harbour RNLI annual Fish Supper will be held in the Coast Hotel, Rosslare Strand on February 2. Food will be served from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. A selection of fish dishes will be available. Tickets are €15 and this includes a fish supper and entertainment by Borderline.

St Mary's Day Centre
We had a spooktacular day last Wednesday for our Halloween celebrations. A great time was had and a very special mention for everyone who dressed up for the day.
Yes we mentioned the C word. It's that time of year again when thoughts turn to sugar plums and Santa and with that comes out Christmas Fair. Loads of Christmas goodies to be had so come along to Tagoat Community centre on Wednesday, November 13, from 2 p.m.
St Mary's camogie club
Our minor team had a very close encounter with Duffry Rovers. The match ended in a draw. The final score was Kilross Gaels 2-09 Duffry Rovers 3-06.
Hard luck to our under-16 team who reached the shield final. The girls lost out to a very good Ballygarrett side. While it wasn't our day, the girls can hold their heads up high as they have done both St Mary's and Kilmore proud all year. Well done!
