Minor team - Adamstown 0-4 St Mary's Rosslare 2-12

On a very wet and wintry morning on Sunday last our Minor Footballers headed to Adamstown for a 10: 30 throw in, in Round one of the Wexford People under-17 Football Roinn two South League. The conditions were less then suitable but despite this and the small matter of a missing referee under the agreement of county board, Rosslare and Adamstown, these young men donned the jerseys and took to the field of play. Rosslare started well and despite the tough conditions pretty much were in control for the first half with scores from Tadhg Brohan, Jack Meyler and Ollie Gould. It was 22 minutes before Adamstown opened their scoring account however the home side were not making it easy by any means for us and the conditions made playing almost impossible for both sides. The first half ended on a 1-8 to 0-2 score line in favour of Rosslare.

We resumed the second half determined to start as we had finished the first half and it was only minutes in when wing back Alex Mulvihill opened the scoring with a well taken goal following a number of good saves from the Adamstown keeper. Adamstown played some decent football in the second half but we never gave up and outscored them 1-5 to 0-2 ensuring we secured the win to seal the victory and start our 2019 campaign with full points. Next Sunday the boys are in action against Bannow where the disappointment of losing to them in the Jim Byrne Cup earlier this year will be fresh on their minds. It will make for an epic encounter in Tagoat. Throw in 11 a.m.

Our lotto is €20,000 and tickets can be bought off committee members and around the locality. The numbers for five th March 2019 were 5, 10, 24 and 28. No winner.
