Ballymurn: Silver Circle - Congratulations to our January winners. Community Field, Garrywilliam
Despite the harsher weather of recent weeks, there are good numbers availing of the walking track at the field. The track is lit till 10 p.m. each night helping everyone stick to their resolution to Get Active in 2019. A small contribution to the honesty box is always appreciated. Repairs to the entrance road are being arranged.
Ballymurn FC is the current resident at the soccer pitch. New members (adults) are welcome. Contact Vinny Quirke at 087 6824077.
Candles for the altar
It is a long standing tradition that candles are supplied by the people of the parish for their local church. If you would like to supply candles for the coming year you may purchase them in Costcutters Ballymurn orb in the Cenacle bookshop Wexford.
Ballymurn and Crossabeg Volunteers
If you would like to volunteer to help out at different times in the parish, please sign your name on the sheet at the back of the church.
Bingo takes place every Monday in the Anvil Pub starting at 9 p.m.
Youth Club takes place every Friday night in Ballymurn Hall from 8.10 p.m. New members always welcome.

St Patrick's Weekend Run/Walk
Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 10k run and 5k walk on bank holiday Monday, March 18. The event will begin at 11 a.m., with registration taking place from 10 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for the 5k walk and €10 for the 10k run. Both events are open to all ages and abilities. The 10k race will be chip timed and there will be prizes for the first man and woman home. Refreshments will be served to all participants in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a great community event.
Slaney Valley Adventure Race
This year's Slaney Valley Adventure Race will take place on Saturday, February 16. Check-in is from 9 a.m. at Bree Community Centre with the first wave of competitors starting at 10 a.m.
The race comprises of a 30km Cycle, a 1km Kayak and a 6.5km Forest Run. Register online at njuko.

Ballyhogue GAA lotto Re-launch
The number of balls in the club lotto will drop from 32 to 28 increasing the chances of winning. An annual subscription option will be available. annual lotto subscribers get a free model county draw ticket and entry to our annual subscribers draw with a prize fund of €1,000. Committee members will be calling to all houses in the parish over the next few weeks to answer any questions you may have and hope to get you signed up.
Galbally Tractor Run
The annual Galbally Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, May 26, Bree AC News.
Bree AC AGM and Awards Night will take place in Bree Community Centre on Thursday next, February 7, at 7.30 p.m. All parents and athletes are welcome to attend. Best wishes to all local athletes competing in the Leinster Indoor Championships in Athlone next weekend and best of luck also to Lea Bolger competing with the Wexford under-11 Team in the National 'B' Cross Country Championships.
Community Chess and Draughts has resumed in Galbally Hall on Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. All children from eight years to 15 years are welcome. Cost is €2 per child to a maximum of €4 per family. The Co Community Games will begin shortly. The local area will be represented in quiz, Talent, art, Swimming, Athletics, Chess, Draughts and tag rugby. Smart Fitness has reopened for 2019 in Galbally Community Centre at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday Evening. Classes 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. are available for only €13 for two or €8 pay-as-you-go. Kettlebell Fitness and Circuit Training Classes suitable for all Fitness Levels and all ages. Saturday, February 9, will be a historic and great occasion for the club and the parish. Our Junior hurlers have booked themselves a place in the all-Ireland final in Limerick, where they will play Cappamore from Limerick. The lads had a good win in the semi-final V Inagh-Kilnamona from Clare with Peter Rowley being awarded man of the match. This team have now beaten the county final winners from Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway, and Clare which is a great achievement.
Well done to the panel, manager John Conroy, his back room team and Jay Shanahan, who has been training the lads. We wish the team the very best of luck and we hope to see lots of supporters at the game down in Limerick. If you wish to travel by bus please contact Majella to book a seat.

It is with deep shock and sadness that we report the sudden and untimely death of the late Seán Byrne, Raheenaskeagh (and formerly Killagown) that occurred on Monday, January 28. Seán, a most popular and helpful individual who was deeply involved in all aspects of parish life, was well-known as a most efficient secretary of Oulart Community Centre, secretary of Oulart Vintage Group and Registrar/treasurer of the Wexford/Wicklow Vintage Group.
The sympathy of the community is extended to his brother Pat, sister-in-law Maureen and their family, Cong, Co. Mayo, nieces and nephew, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends. Seán Byrne was laid to rest in Oulart Cemetery after his funeral Mass on Thursday, January 31. Solas na bhFlaitheas dá anam dílis.
Month's mind Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Bernadette (Bernie) McClean-Gazzard will be held in St Cormac's Church, Boolavogue on Friday, February 8, at 8 p.m.
The Senior Scór GAA Talent competition will take place in Carrig-on-Bannow Community Centre on Friday, February 8, at 7.30 p.m. Details of the Scór Quiz will be announced soon.
Scoil Mochua notes
Enrolment Forms, for junior infants and any other pupils who wish to start school in September 2019, are available from the school office, 9 a.m. to 2.40 p.m. Parents/Guardians are advised to complete and submit enrolment forms as soon as possible.
Used Clothes Collection
Scoil Mochua's next Used Clothes Collection will take place on Tuesday, February 26. Bags of clothes should be left at the school gates before 9.30 p.m. on that morning. Items of clothing, bags, paired shoes, belts, hats, towels, curtains and bed sheets are welcome. No duvets or pillows please.
A meeting of Scoil Mochua's parents' association will take place on Tuesday, February 19, at 8 p.m. All parents/guardians are invited to attend.
Grandparents/special persons are invited to visit their grand-child's classroom on Friday, February 8, from 1.15 p.m. to 1.40 p.m. There will be refreshments and a short assembly from 1.50 p.m. to 2.15 p.m.

GAA Talent Competition
The winner of the final of the GAA Talent Competition 'Oulart-The Ballagh's Got Talent' that was held in the Sawdust, The Ballagh, on Saturday, January 26, was Laura Kelly and the runner-up was Rachel O'Leary.
Well done to Coláiste Bríde, Enniscorthy under-16 camogie on their victory in the Junior B Leinster Final versus Castlecomer recently. Oulart-The Ballagh players involved were Siobhán Sinnott, Miria O'Dowd and Sarah Walsh while the substitutes included Cora Redmond, Niamh Larkin - Cooney and Bronagh Kenny. Joint managers were Marie-Therese Barron and Nicholas Cullen. The team will play the Munster champions in the all-Ireland semi-final.
