Christmas Mass Times
Christmas Mass Times at Carrig Church - Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. Christmas Day at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The youths won 2-0 on Saturday away to Wexford Celtic. Lorcan Breen and Cathal Cummins scored a goal apiece.
It ended in a 1-1 draw vs Courtown hibs for the under-15 boys. Alex Power was on target for Corach.
Hard luck to the under-13 boys who were beaten 3-2 at home to Gorey yesterday. Seven lads were out sick but four under-12 boys came in and helped out and put in a great effort. Goals by josh Donnelly and Cameron Whelan.
There were no games for the senior men or women's sides and both resume their campaigns the first Sunday in January.
Julie Cooney picked up €504 for herself in this week's split-the-pot. Thank you all for your continued support - we really appreciate it.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE - The Daycare Centre will be closed from Tuesday, December 24, to Wednesday, January 1, inclusive. It will reopen on Thursday, January 2.

Christmas Carol Service
Why not come along to Grantstown Community Village on Sunday, December 22, at 4.30 p.m. for the annual Christmas Carol Service and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.
All donations this year go to the Women's Refuge in Wexford. Take the time to have a cup of tea and a mince pie and chat to your neighbours and acquaintances.

Christmas Memorial Decoration fundraiser, remember a loved one this year with personalised Christmas tree decorations with your loved ones name on it for €3. These can be ordered from Bredas Corner Shop or Martina Sinnott at 086 0607545.
Alternatively last year's decorations can be reused for a €1 donation. All the decorations will be placed on the Christmas tree in the church for the Christmas sermons and returned to the family's as a memento.
The study centre in Wellingtonbridge will not be reopening after Christmas. Thanks to all that attended last year and the support from parents.
The 2nd Annual Christmas swim in aid of Spina bifida will be at Cullenstown beach on St Stephen's day at 2 p.m.
Rosslare Harbour-Kilrane Environment Group would like to thank all those who contributed to the fundraising raffle and Christmas card sale that took place recently.
The prizewinners were Mary Doyle, Catherine O'Donnell, Mary Whitty, Tom Gal, Kathryn Parr, Eileen Morris, Maura Fortune, Sharon Fox, Moggie Murphy, Jason Pierce, Ann Walsh, Diane O'Neill and Jimmy Breen. Our thanks also goes to Murphy's SuperValu for the use of their premises and all the businesses and individuals who made donations and provided spot prizes for our various fundraising events during the year.
Our Christmas cards continue to be available from various outlets including SuperValu, Circle K Garage, Teresa's Shop, Maguire's Hardware, Vera Fox or a committee member.
The group would like to thank the community for your support during the year. We would also like to thank our Solas, Tús workers and all our volunteers for all their hard work during a very productive year.

Reminder: A WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods and a container for the recycling of fluorescent tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday Mornings between 10.00 and 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

SVDP COLLECTION - Well done to the beavers and cubs and leaders who held a community event in aid of SVDP by donating/collecting non-perishable goods of all shapes and sizes recently - lots of nice goodies received and donated to SVDP for their Christmas Hampers.
All boys who participated will receive their community badge.
SKILLS DAY - Cubs and Cub Leaders enjoyed a very informative Skills Day on December 8 at Piercestown Hall with first New Ross Cub Pack under Cub Leader Jacinta, covering Pioneering, backwoods, food and hygiene, campfire ending with a lovely dinner from Jacinta and her team from New Ross. Thank you New Ross for having us along on the day. Badges will be awarded to all who attended for all skills learned.
12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS DRAW - Well done to all beavers, cubs and leaders who bought and sold the national 12 days of tickets 80% goes to the group and 20% goes to our national office. 12 great prizes, draw will take place end of January 2020 so if you win, you will be contacted.
INVESTITURE - The investiture of cubs, beavers and three leaders takes place on Tuesday, December 17 - followed by a few treats for all.
NOTICE OF CHANGE OF MEETING NIGHTS - from January the cubs will now meet on Thursday nights at 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and beavers will meet on Thursdays from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. This is to facilitate leaders with youths in both sections - and the earlier time will suit people better. If you wish to join please ring 087 6677411 Ann to discuss.

ARA Club news
Lots of activity for the group over past few weeks, trip to Altamont Gardens and Rathwood, Kildare Village and Newbridge Silver/Whitewater shopping centre, thanks to Rosslare for joining us and all the Wexford ladies. Two more trips in April/May 2020 - more new later.
21 members enjoyed their christmas party night on 13th in Mary Barrys Kilmore - great night with lovely meal and lots of laughs.
All members are heading over to Frank in Johnstown on 17th for their Christmas Lunch. Club will close then till January 7, 2020, at 2.30 p.m. - all over-55s welcome. We enjoy six weeks of yoga with Niamh Boggan and will resume this for another six weeks in early new year, do come along.
ANNUAL COACH TOUR TO DONEGAL - Deposits for Donegal Coach trip will be collect on Tuesday night January 28, 2020, at 7.30 p.m. in St Martin's Centre Piercestown. Contact Ann at 087 6677411 with any queries.

St Garvan's school news
CHRISTMAS CONCERT - Many thank to everyone who supported our Christmas Concert in Camross Hall last week. There was a fantastic turn out of families and the wider community and all the children gaveba great performance. Thank to the parents' council, Camross Hall Committee, past pupils and all the staff of the school for their support. A special word of thank goes to Nash's Bus Hire for transporting the children to and from the hall. All money raised will go to school funds.
COUNTY COUNCIL CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS COMPETITION - Congratulations to Kyle Murphy junior infants and Lucy McDonagh on winning prizes in this competition. Well done to all who competed.
Camross Drama Group
A new diary is a must this time of year, and here are some dates to fill it. 'The Year of the Hiker' by John B Keane will be performed locally as follows:
Friday, January 31 - Camross Hall. Sunday, February 2 - Fethard-on-Sea. Saturday and Sunday, February 8/9 - Clonroche. Saturday and Sunday, February 15/16 - St Michael's Hall, Wexford town.
The play will then go onto the three Act festival circuit. Like our Facebook page for regular news and updates.
Dancing at Camross
The first dance of 2020 will be held in Camross Ballroom on Friday, January 3. with music by the ever popular Peter Burke. The Grand draw will be held during this dance and patrons who attended the Nov. And Dec. dance are already in 'the hat'. Come along to our January dance and you will also have free entry into the draw. Prizes include €100, €100, €50, €50, and €20 x5, plus other prizes. Admission to dance €10 including the tea.
Camross Hall Committee wish all patrons a very happy Christmas and thanks for your continued support during 2019. May 2020 be good to you all and we look forward to meeting you at our monthly First Friday dances.
The December meeting was held on Monday 2nd, and Mary Kelly presided. Margaret Nolan, Mary Nolan and Dympna Kelly dealt with Minutes, Correspondence and Finance respectively.
Mary thanked all members on hosting the annual senior citizens party on Sunday, November 24, providing a delicious Christmas dinner to over 70 people. She thanked all that provided entertainment during the afternoon, the In House Band of Jo and Jack Curran, Mick Sinnott, Joan Quigley, Barbara and Una Walsh and Phil Power, and other entertainers were Val Whitty, The Hussey Family, Robert Nolan, Paddy Curran, Matt Banville, Lar Doyle, Maggie Morrissey, Marian Donnelly, Breda Nolan and Breda Banville. Mary also thanked Fr Robert McGuire who was MC for the event and thanked Taghmon-Camross GAA for the use of the Function Room once again.
Four members represented the guild in the Federation Bowling competition, Mary congratulated Mary Nolan, who had the highest score and was a member of the winning team and congratulated Alice Whitty, a member on runner-up team. Well done to Eileen Redmond and Margaret O'Gorman, Caro, both of whom have recipes in the book of Bread and Baking published recently by National ICA.
It was a night of congratulations, Breda Whelan was congratulated on getting third in Gempack Carrot and Pineapple Cake and Highly Commended in autumn Foliage Arrangement. Breda Banville gave Federation report and the guild will enjoy their own Christmas party on Sunday the eighth in Riverbank House Hotel. After the meeting Mary Margaret Roche demonstrated the making of Christmas Wreaths and arrangements and all present got loads of valuable tips, thanks Mary Margaret. A delicious tea, hosted by Majella Colfer and Breda Whelan was enjoyed by all.
The first meeting of 2020 will be held on Monday, January 6. 8 p.m., and new members are always welcome. President Mary wished all a happy Christmas.
