Community Engagement and Eco-engineering

We would like to invite you to a Community Engagement and Eco-engineering Information Evening at the Stella Maris, Kilmore Quay, on Wednesday, November 28, at 7.30 p.m.

These experiments aim to reduce some of the harmful impacts of climate change by developing innovative solutions for the design of coastal structures such as harbour walls. There are two types of experiment installed in Kilmore Quay: 'Vertipools' and 'World Harbour Tiles'.

Kilmore Quay is an ideal location for these experiments due to its exposed location and maritime culture. Ecostructure is an opportunity for all members of the community to engage with science and contribute local knowledge, observations and experience of the harbour and the changing coastline. We are holding an event in the Stella Maris, Kilmore Quay on November 28 at 7.30 p.m. to introduce the project and hope you can join us.
