Bannow-Ballymitty: One-act Plays - In conjunction with Corach Ramblers the Ballycogley Players will perform three One-act Plays in Carrig-on-Bannow Community Centre on Sunday, November 10.
Entertainment kicks off at 8 p.m. so come along and enjoy a night of fun and Craic. Refreshments served at the interval. Your support on the night would be greatly appreciated.
Dancing in Carrig
Dancing continues in Carrig community centre on the third Friday of every month - next dance is on Friday 15 h November with music by Art Supple.
Lotto draw is on this Tuesday evening with the jackpot still at €14,000. The reserve pot is at €3,800. Hard luck to the under-15 football team who narrowly lost by a point to Blackwater in their county semi-final. Many thanks to all their parents and Mangement team of Tom Moran, John Roche and Connor Neville. Last Sunday the under-15 had their Hurling semi-final v Marshalstown in Enniscorthy.
Well done to Peter O'Brien, who has secured his Mangement skills and position with the Wexford Football Minor Ladies. Congratulations Peter from the club.
Don't forget this week the Ladies' Football Club are holding a Clothes Collection on Tuesday the 29th, Wednesday the 30th, Friday, November 1, at 8 p.m. ,on Saturday the second at 2 p.m. and on Monday the third at 8 p.m. They will take clothes, paired shoes, handbags, belts, hats and scarves, suitcases and backpacks. They will not take pullows, duvets, cushions, teddy bears, kids toys or bed linen.

The Men's A team exited the Junior Cup on a 2-1 score line. Niall Harney scored from the penalty spot but the Rams could not close the gap.
The B team enjoyed a 3-0 versus Carne Utd and continued to progress nicely in their division.
The Women's team finished the soccer weekend with a tight 2-1 win over Kilmore to progress to the Premier shield quarter finals. Aisling Waters was the player on fire with both goals.
Off the field, Mick Rossiter from Ballycullane picked up €513 in the weekly split-the-pot.

The Kilmore Seals bowling team had a good win in the county league on Wednesday last in the Stella Maris Centre where they beat Ferns Warriors by 24 points to two, team was Margaret Howlin, Joe Barry, Séamus O'Keeffe and Noel Howlin. The Kilmore Gulls team's game with Gorey Gold has been postponed to Wednesday, November 6, at 2 p.m. in the SMC.
Reminder of November meeting on Thursday the 7th at 7.30 p.m. in the GAA clubrooms, names for Christmas dinner on December 4 should be submitted at this meeting, also the National raffle tickets should be returned.

Our one-act plays were staged for three nights in St Michael's SVP Hall last weekend and went down very well with audiences.
Next stop for the casts and crews of these productions are Our Lady's Island on Saturday, November 2, followed by Ballycogley Hall on Saturday, November 9 (start time 8.15 p.m.) and Carrig-on-Bannow on Sunday the 10th. We look forward to your support.
Rehearsals for our full length festival play are coming along nicely, applications to festivals both county and countywide have been sent and we await our line up for 2020. As always keep an eye on our Facebook page for news on 'all things drama'.
Camross Drama Group
The group had three very successful and well attended performances in Camross Hall, Arts Centre and Fethard-on-Sea last week. Thanks to the audiences who supported us. The festival play, 'Pity about Kitty' by Jimmie Chinn starts the circuit with Goresbridge this Friday, followed by Kilmallock on Sunday. Break a leg.

GAA club notes
There was no winner of the club lotto draw last week and the next draw takes place tonight, Tuesday, October 29, The jackpot will remain at €14,000 till we get a winner but the reserve jackpot will keep going up while we wait. It's now up to €3,800. A winner of the big prize will surely be along soon. Please encourage any family or friends living away from the area to support the draw through the online Taghmon-Camross page on the Klubfunder website. The deadline for online sales is at 6.30 on draw night and the minimum spend on the online system is €6. Tickets can also be bought at the centre or from usual outlets.
Another concert is being lined up for the community centre on the last Saturday of November. Big Generator will be playing live at the centre and tickets will cost €10. Our camogie club are running a fundraiser in collaboration with the Hope Cancer Foundation. Tickets will be on sale around the village.

Dancing at Camross
2020 is just around the corner and Camross Hall committee will welcome 2020 with a Super New Year Draw. How can you enter this draw? You will receive a free ticket at the November, December and January dances and the grand draw will be held at the January dance on Friday the 3rd. What are the prizes? There will be monetary prizes to the value of €400 plus lots of extra prizes, so come along to our dancing events because if you're not in you can't win.
T-Bone Country will have you all dancing the night away on Friday, November 1. Shane Moore on Friday, December 6. and Peter Burke will get 2020 off to a great start on Friday the third. Jan.
Taghmon ICA Guild
A meeting of Taghmon ICA Guild took place on October 16, sympathies were extended to to the Winters, Leacy, Whelan and Devereux families on their recent bereavements.
Members will attend the Federation Quiz in Rochford's Lounge and the Bowling in Leisure Max which are coming up shortly. The Christmas Shoe Boxes can be handed in to the Chemist Shop before November 2.
Afer the business was dealt with, Stella was presented with a card and gift for the occasion of her special birthday recently.
The speaker at the meeting was Nicola Roche from Adamstown Pharmacy and Eden Lodge Beauty Salon, her talk on skin care and make-up was very interesting. Meabh had her make-up done by Nicola using some of the Flormar products. The winner of the competition for the nicest handwriting was Helen and Mary Monaghan was second.
Our next meeting is on November 20 when our competitions will be for the nicest autumn leaf and the nicest pair of slippers. The slippers will be donated to the Wexford Women's Refuge as we do every year. New members as always, are very welcome.
