Bannow-Ballymitty - Social dancing: Dancing continues every Thursday night in Tír na nÓg with music this Thursday, February 14, Jack Ryan, 21st Delta Dawn and 28th Bandit. All proceeds in aid of handball clubs new build, all welcome and refreshments will be served.

Volunteer Bus Drivers Urgently Needed - We need bus drivers to transport clients to the Daycare Centre in the morning and home in the afternoon. If you are a licensed Minibus driver who has a couple of hours to spare, please contact us at 051 561016. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Getting Citizens Online - Would you like to be able to shop online, do online banking and be able to send and receive emails? Here at Grantstown we will be holding a free Basic Computer Course for five weeks. Dates to be confirmed. There are limited spaces available, to book your place phone us at 051 561016.

21 Day Walking Challenge

For health benefits adults need to be active at a moderate level for at least 30 minutes a day on five days of the week. With that in mind, we would like to invite you to join our residents for a walk in the Bannow-Ballymitty GAA ground at 9 a.m. every morning. You can walk at your own pace, or you can walk on your own and record how long you walk each day for three weeks. Challenge yourself to increase your walking time each week. Let's see how many miles we can walk collectively in 21 days. We have record cards which also contain some useful advice on how to get started. You can get one by calling to reception.

GAA club news

Sorcha Hyland is holding a yoga class on Thursday afternoon 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the community centre Carrig-on-Bannow. Sorcha teaches a soft, gentle series of movements that can be practiced on a yoga mat or by sitting on a chair. you can even pay weekly so no damage to your pocket at this expensive time of year. Big Breakfast Morning - The next Sunday Cafe will take place on Sunday, February 24, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall. We will be serving a tasty Full Irish Breakfast on the morning.

Ger Maloney was also in Cross Country Action last weekend competing in the Irish Life National Intermediate and Masters Championships where he was fifth O'55 and 71st overall.

We wish Maeve Hayes, Dankia Gilshinan and Ciara Martin the best of luck this weekend in Day 1 and two of the Juvenile Leinster Indoor Championships in Athlone.

There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €18,000. The winning numbers were 3, 12, 27 and 31. There were five match-three winners who received €40 each.
