Bannow-Ballymitty: Bannow PO closes - Last Friday saw the closing of Bannow PO a sad day for the people of Carrig and surrounding areas. Nicola, who was Postmaster for the last 33 years was sad to say goodbye to all her customers and wants to wish them well for the future.

Olive in Wellingtonbridge will look after you all well and don't forget Bredas Corner Shop where you can pay lots of the bills that you paid at the PO and do the logo as well. The post box will be left where it is and post will be collected every day, stamps will be on sale at Bredas also. So please support her so we don't loose the shop as well, as they say use it or loose it. Thanks to all the teachers and school children who came to the PO to post letters and say goodbye it was just brilliant an unforgettable experience.

Thanks to everyone who supported the post office during my time as postmaster I will miss the chats, tears, jokes and fun. Lastly I would like to thank Marie Carthy and Helena Tyler, who were great assistants and to Jack the former Postman and Anthony the new postman it was great working with you also. Adios.
