Bannow-Ballymitty: Citizens Online - Getting Citizens online is a free 10-hour computer course provided by Irish Rural Link to enable all citizens to become computer literate and use the internet. It is based local in community venues and consists of five two-hour classes.

Monster Drive-In Bingo
Monster Bingo is on Sunday, May 26, at 3 p.m. in Ballymitty Hall, with €1,500 in prizes including Special page; €50 one line, €100 for two lines and €150 full house. Raffle and lots of prizes. Tea and cakes served.
The clean-up is on for the next two weeks and the trailer is in the usual place for two weeks. So would people do their roads and a bit beyond and try to collect as much rubbish as possible. Bags and gloves-can be got from Breda or Nicola. Thanks to all who help.
Bannow Historical Society
The annual AGM of Bannow Historical Society was held in Tír na nÓg, Wellingtonbridge, on Monday, May 13, chairperson Rich Howlin opened the meeting and welcomed the 20 plus members including committe members. He said he would not be standing for chairperson this year but he would be available for occasional meetings and he would help the society all he could for the coming year.
He then tanked all his fellow officers and members and all the sub - committees for their help during the year and went through all the successful events of the year especially the recent celebrations of the 850th anniversary of the Norman landing in Bannow.
The secretary, treasurer and PRO then gave their peports and its good to see that membership is in excess of 80 people and the society is on a good financial footing. The minutes of the 2018 AGM were unamiously adopted.
Election of Officers: chairperson - Denis Kenny Vice-chairperson - Anne Farrell. Secretary - Dermot McCarthy treasurer - Pádraig Kenny PRO - Kevin Murphy Committee Members - Mary Anne Bennett, Irene Bohana, Mary Stafford, Rich Donnelly, Eamonn Furlong, John Harpur, Andrew Moore and Jim Whitty.
This year's historical tour will take place on Saturday, July 20, and there will be interesting historical talks later on in the year.

'Songs for Hope'
Thanks to everyone for supporting our fundraising day in Staffords in Tullycanna for the Hope Cancer Support Centre. We raised over €1,800 on the day from donations and raffle tickets. See you all again next year. Many thanks again for all your support.

Tractor and Vintage Run
Our Lady's Island Tractor and Vintage Run will take place on Sunday, June 9, in Our Lady's Island village, in aid of Scoil Mhuire, Broadway. Registration from midday in Community Centre. Run commences at 1 p.m. Refreshments available from midday. Children's entertainment from 1.15 to 3.15.
The GAA bingo now has a new start time of 9 p.m. every Tuesday in the community centre. The jackpot stands at €550. Come along and try your luck.

A very special mention to one of our young members-Caoimhe Ryan who received a special presentation on Sunday in recognition for her great sportsmanship the previous weekend when she came to the aid of a fellow athlete well done Caoimhe.
We had glorious sunshine in Enniscorthy last Sunday May 12, at Day 2 of the Juvenile County Championshiips, We had a great turn out again this week with 21 athletes excelling once again. Tadgh, Keiden, Artem, Peter, Catherine, Ciara, Hannah, Shay, Pierce, Lucas, Elijah, Matej, Jakub, Tessa, Rosanne, Adam, Caoimhe, David, Claire, Ciara and Maeve. Matej was 1st in the U9 Turbo Javelin, 2nd in the 60m Sprint and 2nd in the 300m. Artem won gold in the U11 Turbo Javelin and was just outside the medals in 60m sprint and his first High Jump competition finishing in 4th place. Elijah in the same High Jump claimed 3rd place and went one better in the Turbo Javelin winning silver. Lucas sprinted to 2nd place in the U12 80m. Ciara was in action in the U16 800m where she finished in 2nd place, Maeve won 2 gold today in the U18 Long Jump & 200m Sprint and 2nd in the 100m Hurdles. Our relays were in action later in the afternoon and our U10 girls of Tessa, Rosanne, Caoimhe and Catherine finished just outside the medals in 4th place, U10 boys Caolan, Adam, David and Matej finished in 3rd place and our U12 boys Artem, Peter, Elijah & Pierce stormed home in 2nd place. Congratulations & well done to everyone. Thanks once again to Alan from Murphy's Supervalu for the much need water and Johnny Kelly for the Doughnuts and Leo for the photos.
It's going to be another busy weekend for some of our senior athletes, we wish Gergely, Maeve and Danika the best of luck in the Leinster Schools Track & Field Championships on Saurday 18th in Mortom Stadium, Santry and also to Emma, Maeve and Danika who will be wearing the purple and gold on Sunday in Templemore for day 1 of the National League Track & Field where they will be representing the Wexford Women's Team.

The trip to Dublin Zoological Gardens has now been rearranged for Thursday, June 13. The price for the coach is €15 for KRHARG members and €20 for non-members. To reserve a place contact Jane at 087 2824175. Bookings must be confirmed at the next meeting.
The Group's annual holiday has now been booked for August 26 to August 30 (five days and four nights) at the Central Hotel, Donegal Town. The price will be €300pps. St Mary's GAA
The lotto was not won £5050. The numbers were 6, 16, 26 and 28 on May 14. One match three Hazel Whitehead. Next draw is May 21 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and is €5,200. Our Adult team loss to Buffers Alley on Wednesday, May 15, in ACHL Div4. They Play Crossabeg-Ballymurn away on May 18 16.30 Football Division 2. They play Davidstown-Courtnacuddy on May 29 at 20.00 St Patrick's park in the Hurling hampionship.
Our Nursery takes place at the club house at 10 a.m. every Sat for four- to six-year-old boys and girls all are welcome.
Our under-seven boys train on Mondays 6.30 to 7.30 Team Manager Liam Lawlor at 086 8528299 they played in a blitz in Tagoat on Saturday, May 4, which was attended by 18 teams throughout the county. Our team played very well and it was a great morning for the club. we will hold more throughout the year.
Our under-nine boys train Tuesdays 6.30 to 7.30 Patsy Meyler is our Team Manager and can be contacted at 086 6381207. They played a blitz against St Martin's/Ballyhogue and Faythe Harriers on Saturday the 11th and did very well.
Our under-11 boys will continue Hurling and football training on Sundays at 11 a.m. Our under-10 played a County Football blitz against St Anne's, Monegeer/Boulavogue and Glynn-Barntown in Ferns. Jimmy Wickham is our team manager and you can contact him at 087 3440732 they have already had a few blitz and have done very well in Bree on April 20. They played Moguegeen Gaels on Thursday the ninth and done very well. They play Football on May 24 away to St James at 7 p.m. and away to Kilmore Hurling on May 31 at 7 p.m.
Our under-13 boys have played numerous matches including they had a great win against St Martin's in the rising stars on Sunday, May 5. They beat Taghmon 5-10 to 2-7 Football on Friday, May 10. They play at home to Gussarane on May 21 at 7.30 Hurling and away to Adamstown Hurling May 28 at 7.30 p.m.
Our under-15 beat Kilmore 6-16 to 2-2 in Football and beat Taghmon 4-11 to 2-8 in Hurling. They loss narrowly to Shelmaliers 2-8 to 4-4 in the rising stars Football. They play Geraldine O'Hanrahan's Hurling on May 16 at 7.30 p.m. in Tagoat. Away to St Martin's Hurling May 23 at 7.30 p.m. and Tagoat against Faythe on May 30 at 7.30 p.m.

Camogie Club news
Our under-16s were in action but unfortunately lost. After a poor first half the girls came out fighting for the second half and gave it their all. If we had played the same way in the first half we would have won the match.
Our under-14s were in action in a practice match away to Marshalstown-Castledockrell. They lost out in a close match. We had several younger girls playing who all acquitted themselves very well. The team are in championship action on Wednesday when they are away to Bannow.
Our under-eight' played Kilmore away and came away with a win and some excellent skills and determination were on display. Well done, girls.
Our under-10s played a blitz in Kilmore. We won all our four matches. We defeated St Martin's A, St Martin's B, Clonard and St Anne's.
SS 'St David' (III) at Rosslare Harbour
This year marks the 50th anniversary since this popular ferry sailed out of Rosslare for the final time. Built by Cammell Laird Shipbuilding Company, Birkenhead, and launched on February 6, 1947, by the Countess of Dudley, wife of the chairman of the Great Western Railway Company, the ship served the Rosslare Fishguard route from 1948 to 1969.
Rosslare Maritime Enthusiasts, a voluntary group based at the Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre, have commissioned an original painting by maritime artist Brian Cleare showing.
ss 'St David' alongside at Rosslare in the mid 1960s. The painting, measuring 18'x 28' with frame, will be raffled off at Murphy's SuperValu, Rosslare Harbour, on Saturday, June 8. A coffee morning is being held at the Maritime Centre on Sunday, June 2, at 11.30 a.m., where the painting will be on display and there will be an opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket.
All proceeds towards the upkeep of the Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre. Your support would be very much appreciated.
