St Mary's Camogie
The under 8's put on a great show of skills in a blitz in Ferns. All the hard training showed for each of the 13 players present. We had matches against Rathnure, St. Martin's and Marshalstown. Thanks to St. Aidan's for hosting and to Wexford Camogie County Board for organising a great morning of fun. The girls followed up with a match in Rathangan against St. Anne's. Everyone had great fun. Well done to players, coaches and parents who travelled.
Our under 10's were in championship action at home to Clonard. It was a really tough, competitive match. We came away with a brilliant win to remain unbeaten in the championship! There was a huge number of players present and everyone played their part.
Under 14's result: St Mary's Rosslare 9-04 Ferns 1-01. This was the teams third win in a row. Everyone got a game and really enjoyed it. From start to finish the girls gave their all and got better and better as the match went on. Be proud girls of a wonderful performance. Team: Chloe Brady, Aoife Codd, Tegan Fortune, Eabha Griffin, Annie Kelly, Grace Noonan, Sophie Doyle, Alana Culleton, Kate Colley, Doireann Brohan, Eimear O'Neill, Amy O'Hagan, Aoife Whelan, Sophie Colfer, Chloe Kelly, Aoife Shortle, Kate Gould.
Thanks to everyone who collected and donated in our recent church gate collections in Rosslare Harbour, Kilrane and Tagoat - your support is very much appreciated.
We had a special guest at under 14 training when none other than county hurling star Diarmuid O'Keeffe dropped by. He had time for a few words with the girls and a picture.
The under 12's battled hard against a strong Ferns side. Ferns got an early goal but our girls settled into the game with a goal and a point from Doireann. With 20 girls present we made plenty of changes at half time. Fantastic defending prevented Ferns from scoring again. Ashley made a crucial block in the dying minutes and Eabha was outstanding throughout at centre back. A cracking goal from Caoimhe and a point from Chloe reduced the pressure. Chloe was denied a goal from a free with a brilliant save by the Ferns goalie. With passion and determination shown all over the pitch we came away with another victory. They are a great bunch of girls to work with. Scorers: Doireann 1-01. Caoimhe 1-0 and Chloe 0-01.
