Annual Patron

The warm sunshine combined with a gentle breeze were our companions as Father Desmond led the people in prayer at the annual patron ceremony held on Sunday, August 4, last.

The community gathering provided us with an opportunity to reflect and remember in our prayers, dear family members and friends who have gone to their eternal reward.

Father Desmond thanked all who have helped in any way over the past year, especially all those who gave so generously during the gate collection. This year's figure reached a record amount of €1532.00; your support is very much appreciated. The money raised will help us maintain the cemetery over the coming year. Thank you also to our a Cappella singer Jude, who provided us with some beautiful hymns to suit the occasion.

St Paul's AC

It was a busy week for our athletes with plenty of news, firstly we would like to congratulate two of our athletes, Maeve Hayes and Gergely Pap, who were representing Ireland in the Inaugural Youth Nations Cup which was held in Morton Stadium, Santry on Saturday, August 3. Maeve was competing in the Long Jump where she was fourth and Gergely was competing in the Shot where he finished in third place. St Paul's AC is a small club and to have two of our Athletes selected to compete at this level is fantastic and we are very proud of these two athletes, who will now enjoy a well earned rest.

Day two of the Mr Oil Senior Track and field Championships took place on Wednesday, July 31, and Danika Gilshinan had a busy evening, she was first in the Novice 3000m, first 400m and first in the 800m. Camogie Club news

Brilliant stuff from our under-12 girls. 21 players travelled to St Anne's for an exciting match. Both teams created loads of chances and we took an early 2-0 lead. Excellent skills and sheer determination saw us come away with a 4-01 to 0-01 win. Superb work girls.

The under-10s had a practice match in Tagoat against St Anne's. A screamer of a goal from Zara was enough to seal the win in a tight match. There were some excellent skills on display especially from some of our younger players.

Our under-eights were in action in their last county blitz of the season in Ferns. They played three matches and showed off the skills they have learned all summer at training. It was a super day out. Thanks to all the coaches and parents for travelling.

The under-14s next match will be on Monday (12th) in Tagoat when the girls take on Ferns in what promises to be a close match.
