Clonard Guiding Unit
The memory garden in front of the canteen in Clonard Community Centre is being looked after by the Clonard guiding unit. The girls are busy planting, decorating and building a fairy garden. We would like to ask everyone to please enjoy the garden but also to respect the garden and the hard work being done there. Guides meet every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
Set dancing classes
Set dancing classes have resumed on Mondays in Clonard Community Centre at 8.30 p.m.
The Clonard Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday, December 7, and eight, from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Stalls available, book and pay by October 31 to avail of a €5 discount. Coffee morning thanks

SVP Bric 'a' Brac
The St Vincent de Paul Society will hold a Furniture and Bric'a' Brac Sale in St Michael's Hall, Thomas Street on Friday, October 4, from 10 a.m. - 12.45 p.m. All proceeds in aid of the society.

Na Fianna GAA
On Tuesday evening, September 24, we had our medal presentation for all our junior members in Coolcotts Community Centre. Our Academy and under-eights received medals for their hard work throughout the season. Our under-12 and under-10 girls, received medals from their final's days. Our under-11 boys received medals from their final's day. We had Kate Kelly and Martin Storey on hand to present the medals to all the boys and girls. Well done to all on receiving their medals and to all who helped with the organising, a great evening was had by all.
In camogie: The under-12s lost their Group E final against Camolin, but this alone was a great achievement to the girls to come second in the group and reach a group final. The under-10s played Adamstown in their final with Adamstown coming out the winners in a competitive match.
In Hurling: The under-11 boys' hurling team had a great end to their season when they played in their finals day, they played two games where they lost one and won the other.
Congratulations to Brian Kavanagh on winning split-the-pot. Seller was Marlowe's Cleaners. Envelopes can be purchased from committee members, local shops and also available on our website, clonard.ie.

Barntown Community Centre

Gymnastics/Fun Open Day
Gymstars Gymnastic Club, Knockeen, Barntown are running a FUN/OPEN DAY on Sunday, October 6, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., This is a FUND RAISER for the clubs eight Gymnasts, who have qualified for the European Championships being held in Israel in October. Come along and experience the Gymnastic Equipment, Bars, Beams, Air Track, Double Mini Trampoline, Vaults, plus much more which will all be set out in their full time training facility. Lots of activities planned by the older Gymnasts, you can be sure of lots of fun and Play for everyone. Entry Fee €6 per child. (children must be over three years of age).
Well done to our under-14 camogie team who live to fight another day with a county final replay on the cards following a draw last Saturday morning. Final score Glynn-Barntown 1-6. Kilrush 1-6.
Our under-eight camogie and ladies' football squads had their end of season party on Sunday morning in the clubhouse. Manager Jean Quigley and her great backroom team organised ice creams after training and the presentation of the girls medals which were kindly sponsored by Equi-Ed. Thanks to all involved players, management and parents for all their support and hard work during the year.
Well done to our under-10s who finished up their season at the finals day in Ferns COE last Sunday.

Hard luck to our under-15 hurlers. After a gallant effort they bowed out of championship at semi-final stage last weekend to Shelmaliers 0-10 to 2-10.
Congratulations to our under-13 footballers who are Co Champions on Tuesday evening following a win over Bannow-Ballymitty 4-4 to 0-8. Our scores came from Jack Conneely 3-2, Fionn Nolan 1-0, Liam Cooney 0-1, Craig Laffan 0-1 and Co captains Liam and Craig accepted the cup on their teams behalf. Well done to boys and a huge thank you to the mentors for all their work.
Our Junior hurlers advance to a Co semi-final with a convincing quarter final win over Monageer-Boolavogue last weekend.
Unfortunately the season has ended for both our Senior Hurling and senior camogie team but what a great year they all provided for their followers. Our players are the heartbeat of our club and ultimately their efforts on the playing field make our efforts behind the scenes worthwhile. Hats off also to our management teams who build their lives each year around their panels and the commitment involved. We salute you all.
