Over-60s Social

The Clonard Parish Over-60s Social takes place on Thursday, February 21, in Clonard Community Centre at 8 p.m. Dancing 9.30 p.m. till midday Subscription €5. Tickets available from the parish office till Thursday, February 14.

Bereavement Support

Bereavement Support Sessions will begin with an Information Night on Tuesday, February 5, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Shamrock Room of the Parish Centre. All welcome to attend. If you wish to attend, please contact 053 9123672/087 1008759. There is no cost, but donations are greatly appreciated.

Clonard Guiding Unit

The Brigins 40th birthday celebrations will be kicked off on March 30 with a big birthday party for the girls. If there is anyone out there with old photos from any time over the last 40 years, please contact us we'd love to see them. Well done to all our Guides, Rangers and Brigins, who completed their first 10km hike of 2019. Don't forget the Cygnets, they enjoyed the cinema.

Clonard GAA

Underage Hurling and camogie training recommenced on Tuesday, February 5, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in St Peter's College. Looking forward to seeing all the boys and girls back for another season. New members welcome to come along and join in. Adult hurling training continues every Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in North End. Congratulations to M Kenny this week's winner of split-the-pot. Seller was Orla Hore.

Ladies' GAA

New Year, new training times: Underage training will recommence on Thursday, January 31, in the Presentation Sports Hall, under-eight to under-12 at 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., under-14 to under-16 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., please bring water, gum shields and €2. Adult training on Friday nights 8-9.30 in the Presentation Sports Hall.

Congratulations to all our members who will represent Clon Vols at county level for 2019 best of luck to Senior Players Aoife Tormey and Niamh Butler, under-16 Tara Cullinane, under-14 Katie Law, Emer O'Connor and Lucy Fitzgearld. Also well done to Katie Cleere and Sofia Kuton, who earned their well deserved place on the under-13 development squad.

Clon Vol ladies have National Club Draw fundraising tickets available from committee members, if possible please try and support your local ladies' football club within the Clonard community, as always your continued support is needed and appreciated.

Kilmore AC

CROSS COUNTRY - Well done to all those who competed in the Mr Oil County Master and Junior Cross Country in Lingstown on Sunday. Full report and results on our Facebook. Kilmore AC retained their ladies titile with Fiona Kehoe coming first, Jackie Carthy second and Helen Doyle just outside the top five. Suzanne Foley and Sinéad Fortune had a thrilling sprint finish as well. Cian Doyle came home as third junior in the men's 6k. Rory Cassidy was just behind him in fourth. Running for the Masters men were Michael O'Flaherty, Nicky Foley and Adrian Reville.

Senior Training - Kilmore GAA Grounds at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday and Enniscorthy Sports Hub Saturday at 10 a.m. All adult members welcome as well as experienced runners.

JUVENILE TRAINING - We train in Kilmore GAA Grounds on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6.30 p.m. We also train on the track in Enniscorthy on Saturday at 10 a.m. S & C with Fiona on Wednesday in Kilmore GAA Centre at 6.30 p.m. for juvenile members. See training programmes for details. Young runners must be seven years old already this year to qualify under Athletics Ireland rules. COUCH TO 5K - Is one of your New Year's resolutions to improve your health, fitness and wellbeing. Well, if so Kilmore AC has got you covered. Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Kilmore GAA Grounds we will hold our Couch to 5k Programme. It would be great to see you come along and improve your fitness.

Drama Technical Skills

Are you interested in learning all aspects of Lighting, Sound, Set Building or Backstage skills in amateur drama?

Ballycogley Players are busy rehearsing comedy play 'Same Old Moon' which will be performed at the end of March-April, and are looking for help in all technical areas. This is a great opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes and work with an established successful drama group. For details contact 087 6858480.

Pilates

Sewing Machine Repairs

A Sewing Machine Engineer will be at Tomhaggard Social Centre on Monday, February 4. He will service and repair machines in the centre on the day. The cost is €30 per machine for a service if parts are needed that will be extra. If interested please contact Angela at 087 2840272.

Camogie Club news

Our Spring Clothes Collection will take place on Saturday, March 30, from 9.15 a.m. till 12.15 p.m. Your continued support for this fundraiser would be greatly appreciated.

ARA bowling

Kilmore Gulls had a good but close win against Gorey Golds in the county league on Thursday last in Gorey. The result was 10-9 in favor of Kilmore; team members were Frances Moore, Tom Dunne, Anne Lawless and Séamus O'Keeffe. On Tuesday the 29th we have our practice at 2 p.m. in the SMC.

On Wednesday, January 30, Kilmore Seals will welcome Slaneyside to the SMC at 2 p.m. to play their postponed match from last week. Kilmore Seals will also be at home for the game against Ferns on Wednesday, February 6, at 2 p.m. in the SMC and then to finish the league both Kilmore teams will travel to New Ross on Wednesday the 13th for their final games in the league at 2 p.m.

Murrintown

Split the Pot

Our last winner was Pat Wilson, winning €602. Pat bought the lucky ticket in Billy Kelly's Bar, The Faythe. Draw takes place every Monday night at Murrintown bingo. Remember you must be in to win.

Operation Transformation

St Martin's GAA are coming on board with Operation Transformation and the GAA for Ireland Lights Up. Every Thursday until February 21 our club will be open and lit up for you, your family and friends to come and walk from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

We want everyone to come and join for Ireland Lights Up 2019. All are welcome to come to this event. Please register at the clubhouse on arrival. Any queries contact Jenny Bates at 087 9650738.

ARA Club news

Wexford County Fire Service will give a free fire safety in the home presentations to all members of Piercestown-Murrintown ARA Club and to anyone in parish who are interested in coming along. Two fire-fighters from your local fire station will come to this meeting, deliver the presentation and answer any questions you may have. This event will be held on Tuesday, February 5, at 2.30 p.m. in St Martin's GAA Centre organised by ARA Club. Please come along to this very informative presentation. No charge. There will be a cup of tea afterwards. Talk is open to non-members.
