Clonard: Our Lady's Island Choir - Our Lady's Island Choir are looking for members for the pilgrimage season. Rehearsals on Tuesday and Monday, August 4, and 12, at 7pm in our Lady's Island Church.

You must attend rehearsals to sing at the pilgrimage opening Mass at 3pm on August 15.

Calling All Wool Gatherers

Third Age Summerhill has established a new project 'Knitting Memories Together' in partnership with Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. The Third Age knitters are creating colourful warm blankets for the patients in the hospital's Alzheimer Unit. The Hair Boutique Fundraiser Raised €1,510 for the walking track at the Abbie Troy Park Kilmore Utd. Kilmore AC

FIONA RACING IN LONDON - Well done to Fiona Kehoe, who raced in the British Milers Club Meet in Eltham, London on Saturday. Fiona didn't get the result she wanted but gave it her all nonetheless, running a time of 4.31 minutes for the 1500m.

NATIONAL LEAGUE SUCCESS FOR PADDY AND RORY - Congratulations to Paddy Morgan and Rory Cassidy, who were both involved with the Wexford County Men's Team, who won the Irish Life Health Division One title yesterday in Tullamore. Paddy was the team manager and Rory competed in Round two on the team so earned a National gold medal. The men will now compete in the Premier Division next year.

FIVE MILE STRIDE IN CAMROSS - Well done to those who raced the United Striders AC five mile stride in Camross on Saturday evening. Kilmore AC finished fourth in the mixed team of six competition. NATIONAL JUVENILE T & F - Well done to Cian Bates, who competed on day three of the Irish Life Health National Juvenile Championships in Tullamore on Sunday. Cian placed fifth in the boys under-19 Long Jump, equalling his PB of 6.09m. This is an excellent result.

IRISH MILERS CLUB MEET IN DROGHEDA - Well done to Fiona Kehoe, who ran an outdoor PB of 4.24.90 today in the 1500m at the Irish Milers Club Meet in Drogheda, to win the race. Despite the windy conditions down the back straight Fiona held strong. This is a great result for Fiona, who continues to be a great ambassador for the club and a great role model to the young athletes she coaches. Well done also to Anne Gilshinan (Slaney Olympic AC) and Aedan Rodgers (United Striders AC), the other Wexford athletes who competed in the meet.

MENAPIANS 5K IN WEXFORD TOWN - Thanks to Menapians for the great event on Friday evening, on what was a beautiful evening weather wise. No super speedy times but a good run all the same on a very tough course. Results: Michael O'Flaherty - 11th - 19.33 Jackie Carthy - 13th (first woman) - 19.40 Rory Cassidy - 18th - 20.20 Jenny Burrell - 67th - 27.20

Senior T & F Championships - Well done to Rory Cassidy, Michael O'Flaherty and Adrian Reville, who competed on Night one of the Mr Oil County Senior Track and Field Championships in Enniscorthy.

Rory and Michael ran the Novice mile, with Rory running a seven second PB of 5: 22 (that's 7s quicker since May and 12s faster than back in April) and Michael running 5: 26 in his first track mile.

Adrian ran the Senior 5000m and finished sixth running a swift time. Thanks to Paddy Morgan, John Moore and Mary Kehoe for officiating as ever.

Day two takes place on Wednesday, July 31, again in Enniscorthy. Please support the county events.

GOOD LUCK FIONA - Good luck to Fiona Kehoe, who is racing in next weekends National Senior Track and Field Championships in Morton Stadium, Santry.

CLUB LEAGUE - The next round of league is Thursday, July 25, at 7.30 p.m. The race is two Miles and starts and finishes outside Kilmore NS Race is for club members only. This is the second last round of the league.

TODDY MOORE 10K - Entry for the inaugural Toddy Moore 10k is now open. See our Facebook page for the link. The race takes place on Saturday, September 14, at 5.30 p.m. with a two Mile Fun Run beforehand that kicks off at 5 p.m. Entry online, which includes special race T-shirt is only €15 with on the day entry for the 10k priced at €20.

TRAINING - We are now on a break for training for the summer.

COUCH TO 5K - Every Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the Burrow, Kilmore Quay (opposite Sofrimar) we will hold our Couch to 5k Programme. It would be great to see you come along and improve your fitness.

History Society

Taghmon History Society would like to invite anyone with an interest in local history to become involved in the activities of the organisation. The present committee feel that new direction and ideas are needed to carry the society into the future. If interested, please phone 087 7681523.

GAA notes

The club's under-13 hurlers play at home to Our Lady's Island/St Fintan's on Tuesday at 7.30. Two days later our minor hurlers play away to Geraldine O'Hanrahans, and have another game against Kilmore at home at 11 a.m. on Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. Our intermediate footballers may be back in championship action next weekend depending on Wexford's result. Look out for details on social media if Tipperary prevail on Sunday in Croke Park.

The lotto jackpot wasn't won last week but there were seven match-three winners that shared €200. The next draw takes place on August 6 the jackpot will remain at €14,000 till we get a winner. Please encourage any family or friends living away from the area to support the draw through the new online Taghmon-Camross page on the KlubFunder website. The deadline for online sales is at 6.30. Call up to the bar in the centre if you miss that deadline. You can buy multi-draw tickets through either option.

Robert Mizzell will be returning to the community centre again in August after his very successful concert there last summer. Tickets for the concert which will take place on August 30 will cost €15. Sabrina Farrell will also play on the night. Finally thanks to all members helping out with the clean-up of the grounds.
