Clonard Guiding Unit

The Cygnets were joined by Piercestown Cygnets for a frozen fun day including a trip to the Arc cinema and fun in Clonard Community Centre. The Guides and Rangers have a sleepover and ice skating coming up. The Brigins had great fun at Leisure Max bowling and pizzas and have a pyjama party on the.

December 17. Our carol service is on Tuesday, December 10, we will also have the raffle for the Wexford Oncology Unit. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Ard Aoibhinn cake sale

Ard Aoibhinn Services will hold a Christmas coffee morning and cake sale on Friday, December 13, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in Clonard Community Centre. Your support is greatly appreciated.

St Peter's College Past Pupils Union

St Peter's College Past Pupils Union annual Christmas Carol Concert will take place on Friday, December 13, in Rowe St Church, commencing at 8 p.m. There will be a great mix of acts to include Michael Darcy (Corner Boy), Trish Gallaher, St Peter's College School Choir, trad music and much more. The proceeds will go towards supporting the development of an all-weather Astro playing pitch at the college and Wexford Marine Watch. Remembrance Tree

This year the Christmas Tree in the church grounds will be for remembering our loved ones at Christmas, home or abroad, unwell or deceased. Personalised wooden ornaments to hang on the tree will be available to purchase for €5 at the community centre Saturday, Sunday after Mass and Gift Shop. Prayers for the names on the tree will be offered at Mass on Saturday, December 21, 7 p.m. For more information contact Teresa at 087 0541606.

Congratulations Sascha

Congratulations to Sascha Santschi-Cooney on the publication of his book on the Yola Dialect of Forth and Bargy. The official launch date will be announced in due course.

Light up Lady's Island

Light up Lady's Island started off with our concert last Saturday night - it was a great night of entertainment. Then on Sunday we had the Christmas Market which was a huge success, and Mrs Claus, and Santa arrived by pony and trap with a few lovely decorated tractors and trike. Stallholders were very pleased. Everything went so well and all kids loved it. We had the switching - on of the Christmas lights at 6 p.m. with Santa and John Murphy. A big 'Thank You' to all who helped and to all who donated prizes.

Youth Club

We decided to go to cinema last Friday and we had a lovely night. Thanks to leaders. We will be going to Leisuremax on Friday, December 13, for our Christmas outing. We have 30 members this year and they are all enjoying themselves.

Split-the-pot

Congratulations to Mark Hogan on winning €111 in last week's split-the-pot draw. Envelopes available in O'Dohertys, Meylers and Rosslare HbrPost office. Draw takes place in Community Hall after Sun. Mass.

Died in Cardiff

Sympathy is extended to the family of the late Maura Sinnott, formerly of Sigginstown, Tomhaggard, who died in Cardiff, Wales on November 15. Sadly missed by Jim, her partner of 58 years. Remembered lovingly by her brothers Séamus, Donnie and Brendan and her sister Sheila. May Maura rest in peace.

Community lotto

There was one jackpot winner this week. There was one match-three winner. The winning numbers were 10, 15, 30 and 33. The match-three winner was Chloe Rowe. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, December 10, and the jackpot now stands at €3,000.

Split-the-pot

Last week's split-the-pot winner was James White winning €94. Next draw will take place on Thursday, December 12, in Rathangan Bar. Thank you for your support.

Parent and Toddler Group

Parent and Toddler Group will meet every second Wednesday starting December 18 upstairs in Rathangan Hall from 10 a.m. till 11.30 a.m. - cost €3 per family, all welcome.

Southeast country music festival tickets are now on sale from the following outlets Murphy's Daybreak, Mace Kilmore quay, Billy Doyle's footwear Wexford and Enniscorthy, Rathangan Hall, Fr Kevin Cahill Rathangan, Odlums shop Baldwinstown and southeast festival committee members, Special early bird price €20 for the month of December. The tickets would be an ideal Christmas present and o supporting our local parishes.

St Anne's GAA Book

The St Anne's GAA Book October 2000 is still for sale from the usual outlets for Christmas including Anne Barry's Club Sales in the club house every Tuesday night from eight to 8.30 p.m.

Sympathy

St Mary's GAA

The lotto was not won €9,400. The numbers were 5, 26, 28 and 29 on December 5. One match-three winner Kieran Robinson. Next draw is December 10 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and is €9,550. Tickets are €2 and can be bought off all Managers, players, committee and places around the parish.

Our Nursery for four to six years olds is at 10 a.m. every Saturday will finish on December 14 when somebody in red might turn up. It is good fun with lots of games. All are welcome and it is free.

Tickets for the 12 Days of Christmas are on sale throughout the parish off players, managers, selectors and committee members. You have 12 draws to win from. Tickets are €20 or three for €50. This draw is for the development of the pitches in Tagoat. Your support will very welcome. First draw is Wednesday, December 11, in the clubhouse.

We are holding a re-union ball on December 29 ay 7.30 p.m. in Ferrycarrig hotel. We are presenting medals to 1994,1999 and 2019 winning county teams. Tickets can be bought off Conor Roche 087 2027202 and Corinna Shiel 086 8681925.

We held our AGM on Sunday, November 24. Gifts for asylum seekers

A collection has been made locally by members of the community of festive goods and treats for the Asylum Seekers, who are at present staying in Hotel Rosslare. These donations will be gifted to the people on the night of the Village Christmas on Friday, December 13. A great evening is promised.

Village Christmas

Santa will be escorted by some amazing festive lit tractor sleighs to the Memorial Park in Rosslare Harbour on Friday, December 13, to switch on the Christmas Lights at 7 p.m. Santa will then be in his house in the Secret Garden to chat to the children. Be there at 6.15 p.m. to see Santa arrive and hear the lovely Carols Around the Christmas Tree, Join in the Rememberance Ceremony with our Lifeboat Crew.

The Christmas Lights will be switched on at 7 p.m. Then go to get your free mulled wine in Hotel Rosslare. There will be music, games and free Facepainting in the Hotel and hot chocolate and cookies, tea or coffee and delicious home baking will be on sale in aid of KRH Community Groups.

Tickets for Santa Vist will be on sale in the Hotel Foyer at €3 per child and adults free There will also be a Festive Raffle. A great evening is promised.
