Oulart

Community Centre AGM

The people of Oulart are very aware of the vital importance of having a well-maintained, spacious Community Centre that is available, at very little cost to organisations and groups for their meetings and activities as well as being a vital amenity and venue for family and parish events.

Oulart Community Centre is run by a small committee of volunteers who ensure its security and upkeep, endeavour to raise funds to meet the costs of electricity, insurance and basic maintenance such as repairs and painting etc as well as making sure it is well-equipped and ready to host functions.

More volunteers are needed to join the committee and to play a part and to have an input into the future of the community centre.

The AGM of the community centre is scheduled for the first Monday in March and an invitation is extended to everyone to attend and become involved.

At the February meeting of the committee a vote of sympathy was extended to the family of the late Seán Byrne, who at the time of his untimely death was the very active and obliging Honorary secretary of the centre. Seán was one of a small core group, who worked tirelessly from the very beginning to renovate, extend and develop the Old School into what is now a fine Community Centre and a concrete monument to his and his co-volunteers hard work.
