Rosslare Harbour

ICA Guild notes

At the November meeting of Kilrane-Rosslare Harbour ICA guild, president Kay Crean welcomed everyone to the meeting. Sympathy was expressed to Aileen Ironside on the death of her uncle, and also to the family of Maura Pearce on her sad passing. It was arranged for deceased ICA members to be remembered at Mass in November.

We all wished Mairead Carr a happy birthday and celebrated with her with Afternoon Tea at the Coast Hotel in Rosslare Strand. We organised to participate in the Christmas Craft Fair on November 25, and also arranged our trip to the English Market in Cork on November 20.

Our Christmas lunch is on December 5 in Ferrycarrig Hotel. Members were asked to bake for the RNLI coffee morning. Competition was won by Betty Halligan, and Nuala Wickham won the raffle.

Bereavements

It was with great sadness we learned of the unexpected death of John Pierce, Newtown Road, Wexford and late of Cawdor Street, Rosslare Harbour. This was the second bereavement to befall the Pierce family in two weeks, with the sudden passing of his Aunt Maura. John's funeral Mass was celebrated in St Patrick's Church and he was laid to rest in St Aidan's Cemetery, Kilrane. He is deeply missed by his wife Helen, sons James and Jack, sisters Catherine and Helen, Uncle Joe, Aunts Joan and Stella, mother-in-law Margaret, brothers-in-law Francis, Gerard, Declan and John, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

We also extend sympathy to the Meyler family Ballysampson, Killinick on the untimely passing of Tommy, of Ballinlough, Co Roscommon. Tommy was laid to rest in Tacumshane cemetery after funeral Mass. He is mourned by his mother Mary (Dolly) partner Breda, sisters Maria, Catherine, Noleen, Jessie and Karen, brothers Kevin and Anthony, nephews, nieces, uncles aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, neighbours and friends. Tommy was predeceased by his father Tony.

May they rest in peace.
