Our Lady's Island: ICA guild - The monthly meeting of Lady's Island ICA will take place on Monday, March 11, at 7.30 p.m. in the Parochial House Conservatory.

Healing Mass

A Healing Mass with blessing of the sick will be celebrated in Our Lady's Island Church this Wednesday, March 6, at 3 p.m.

Split-the-pot

Congratulations to Leo Power on winning €108 in last week's split-the-pot draw. Envelopes are available in O'Doherty's, Meyler's Millhouse and Rosslare Harbour post office. Draw takes place in Parochial House Conservatory after Sunday Mass all are welcome for cuppa, chat and draw.

Invitation to parents

An invitation is extended to all parents of children startign in Scoil Mhuire, Broadway in September, to visit the school on Tuesday, March 12, at 7.30 p.m. It is a nice occasion at the start of your child's school journey.

Pilgrimage to Knock

A pilgrimage to Knock is being organised for May 28 to May 30 to May 2 nights bed, Breakfast and evening meal. Private coach from Our Lady's Island, staying in Westport.

Tour to take in Knock and Stations etc., Ballintubber Abbey, Heritage Park, and a tour of Achill Island. Cost €220, deposit of €120 - just a few places remaining - Contact Olga or Fr Jim 087 3600919.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga with Eileen Rowe, suitable for all ages, continues every Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Butler's Lounge.

RNLI fundraising AGM

At the AGM of Rosslare Harbour RNLI Fundraising Branch the following officers were elected to the committee: Chairperson Trish Kavanagh. Secretary James Sheil. Treasurer Des Murphy. PRO Tommy Carroll. Box Secretary Bernie Mullen Souvenier Secretary Breda Tobin.

The following fundraising events are scheduled for the coming year: Wednesday May May 1 Day Collection (Aldi); Sunday, May 5, Coastal Walk; Sunday, June 2, RNLI Cycle and Tug Of War; Saturday, July 27, barbecue; Friday, August 23, golf classic (Provisional); Saturday, August 24, Flag Day; Saturday, November 2, Fish Supper; Tuesday, November 12, coffee morning and sale of Christmas Cards; Monday, December 2, annual quiz.

We would like to thank everyone for all your support last year.

Active Retirement Group

The next general meeting will be on Tuesday, March 5. The meeting will take place at the Rosslare Railway Social Club at 03 p.m. A Committee Meeting will take place at 2 p.m. There will be bingo after the meeting.

A St Patrick's Day social will take place in the Hotel Rosslare on Sunday, March 17. Music by Jimmy Hogan.

Bacon and Cabbage, Dessert and tea and coffee will be served at 1 p.m. Special dietary requirements also catered for. The price is €10 for KRHARG members and €16.50 for non-members, which are always welcome.

The Group's annual holiday has now been booked for August 26 to August 30 (five days and four nights) at the Central Hotel, Donegal Town. The price will be €300pps with a €60 total single supplement. Deposits of €50 should be paid at the next meeting on March 5.

Environmental Group Notes

The Rosslare Harbour-Kilrane Environment Group would like to thank those who came along to support our recent table quiz in the Railway Social Club. We would particularly like to thank Breda Byrne for setting the questions and the individuals that provided spot prizes. Your support was very much appreciated.

The annual An Taisce National Spring Clean for the area will take place on Saturday, April 6 (All volunteers are welcome). We will be leaving St Patrick's Church at 9.30 a.m. The volunteers will be provided with gloves, litter pickers and bags. Once again the skip will be provided and sponsored by AES the ICA will be kindly providing refreshments afterwards in Kilrane Community Centre.

Reminder: A WEEE (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment) cage only for small Household electrical goods and a container for the recycling of fluorescent tubes is situated at the back of the Railway Social Club. It is open on Saturday Mornings between 10.00 and 11.30 a.m., weather permitting.

Tops Community Group

KRH Tops Community Group wish to thank all those who supported the raffle in SuperValu on Saturday, March 2, with special thanks to Alan Murphy for the use of the facilities. This Raffle supports the projects of the group over the next year, which are the Gala Tops Show in our Ladys Island Hall on April 5, the summer festival which will be held on July 20 and July 21, summer Playscheme July 22 to July 26, and the Village Christmas on Thursday, December 12.

Fancy giving it a whirl? Sessions every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rosslare Community Centre. An opportunity to catch up with old friends, make new ones, keep fit, and maybe pick up a few fancy moves along the way. Teacher available for any debutantes. Scoil Mhuire Rosslare

The official 'Sod Turning Ceremony' of Scoil Mhuire Rosslare's new extension by Minister Paul Kehoe will take place on Monday, March 11, at 10.30 a.m. Refreshments afterwards in the school hall. All are welcome to join us for this ceremony.

The school is now enrolling pupils for September 2019. There are a number of ways to enrol; you can call to the school for a Registration Form, download the form from the school's website scoilmhuirerosslare.ie, or phone the office to at 053 9132501 to have a form posted to you. Please note completed forms should be returned to the school as soon as possible.

Charity Boutique

Sale must end soon at New 2 U Charity Boutique - choose from a great selection of women's and children's clothing. We are open from Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donations are always welcome; any out of hours contributions can be handed into the community centre.

Rosslare Strand FC

Rosslare Strand FC will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a dinner dance on Friday, April 19, at 8 p.m. at Coast Rosslare Strand. We are calling on all past and present players, officials and supporters to come and help us celebrate this tremendous milestone. With music provided by Wrecking Ball, tickers are priced at €30 and can be purchased from all club officials. Couch to 5k

It's not too late to join this six-week programme taking you from couch to 5k. Twice weekly sessions take place, one on Wednesdays at Rosslare Sports and Community Centre, and the second in various locations round the village. Total cost for the program is €50 and includes full training plan, recipe book and ongoing support from personal trainer Liam Kehoe. Befriending Group

This is a free service offering companionship to older people through weekly visits and telephone calls.

Volunteers are trained by 'Alone', and are Garda vetted and reference checked. We complement other services such as home help, homecare etc., but do not replace them. Self-referrals and professional referrals are welcome.
