Scout Group news
Registration of new beavers, cubs and scouts will be held next Tues 19th Feb at 7.30pm for any boys wishing to join any of the three sections. D come along to meet the leaders and register.
Scouts will hold their weekly meeting on 19th, but cubs are on midterm break, resuming full meetings on 26 Feb. 2019. Scout leaders have been to local schools recruiting youth members of past couple weeks so all new entrants very welcome. Meetings as follows: Tues 7.30-9pm Cubs and Scouts and Beavers on Thursdays 6.30-7.30pm.
3 leaders, 9 beavers, 6 cubs, 4 scouts were invested and renewed their Scout Promise on Tuesday last 12 Feb in Piercestown.
Presentation of badges followed the investiture. Co Commissioner, Dano O'Leary presented the group with their Standard of Quality Scouting Excellence award for 2018 scouting year.
Plans for many camps are ongoing with youth members, Wamboree in June, IOAC in July, group and county activities are also in the plan, a team will be entering the Shield 2019 in Blackwater in April and practises for this skills weekend will commence in next couple weeks.
A recruitment drive for youth members in the local and nearby schools is ongoing and we hope to welcome some new members in coming weeks. we are also in process of recruiting Adults for Cubs and Scouts.thank you to all the parents / guardians who have given us great support over past year and we look forward to a very active few months ahead with lots of fun and learning for our youths and leaders.

Our under-17 Jim Byrne team play their next match in Tagoat on February 17 at 11.30 against Bannow-Ballymitty please come and support them. It's been great to see our own team compete in the Jim Byrne Cup for the first time in over 20 years.
Our lotto is €20,000 and tickets can be bought from committee members local outlets. The numbers for February 12 were 14, 15, 29 and 30. No winner. Match-three winner was Kieran and Mary Donohoe. Next draw is February 19 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m.
Our Nursery starts this week for four- to six-year-old boys and girls in the clubhouse in Tagoat at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 16, and will continue up to Easter. It is a fun activity about balance and co-ordination.
Our under-nine boys (Boys Born 2010 and 2011) will begin indoor Hurling and Football training Tuesday, February 19, onwards in Tagoat. Patsy Meyler is our Team Manager and can be contacted at 086 6381207 if you have any questions.

We had a great night on Sunday, February 10, in Coast Rosslare Strand to present the medals to under-17/15/14/13 teams. Medals were present by our chairman Conor Roche. Pictures can be seen on our Twitter and Facebook pages. It was great to see so many winning teams and the future looks good. We wish to thank all the managers, parents and club officials who help with them throughout the year and look forward to winning more trophies this year.

We would like to invite everyone to come along to St Mary's Day Centre on Wednesday, February 20, from 1.30 to 3: 30.
