INCREASE YOUR FITNESS
A couch to 5 K group is starting at Rathangan walkway from Monday 12th October and is suitable for anyone who would like to increase their fitness. The plan is to start at the beginning of the couch to 5 K programme on day one and progress through the six week programme.
The group will meet on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the walkway at 7pm. There is no cost and the purpose of the group is to act as motivation for each other to show up.
There is no pressure to actually run 5K as not everyone will have that goal and may continue to mix walking and jogging. If you have any questions contact Eleanor Carpenter at 0857455434. There is no need to download the couch to 5K app as there will be a leader each week.
As previously announced the system for the payment of new graves in Rathangan Cemetery has changed, the payment will now be handled by the funeral undertaker's who will include the price on their invoice.

Graves may be pre bought but the price per grave doubles (Single €300, Double €600, Treble €900) The facility to pre-buy graves is available only to parishioners, former parishioners and their immediate families.

Our members are reminded to be very aware of telephone and internet scams that would appear to be very common around the country at the moment.
Do not give bank account details to any caller on the phone or online. Your bank, or any reputable Company, will never ask for your account details on the phone. Never give your Debit or Credit card details to anybody who phones you unexpectedly asking for payments or donations over the phone.
Be aware that scammers are using the names of well-known charities and asking for donations on the phone. Tell them you will ring the Company or Charity back, but never use a telephone number that they give you to do that. Always obtain the number from an independent source (yellow pages, directory enquiries etc.)
We continue to remember in our thoughts and prayers those of our members who are currently ill.
