Rathangan-Cleariestown: Community lotto - There was no winner of last week's jackpot of €3,400. The winning numbers were 3, 5, 11 and 26. There were two match-three winners who received €100 each. The winners were Anna Lambert, Paul McGuire. The next lotto draw will be held on Tuesday, May 21, and the jackpot now stands at €3,600.

Split-the-pot

Last week's split-the-pot winner was Aoife Moore winning €116. Next draw will take place on May 23 in Stafford's. Thank you for your support.

Cake sale

There will be a cake sale in Carrig-on-Bannow Community Centre on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. hosted by the McCormack family in aid of the Relay For Life, Irish Cancer Society.

Annual Patrons

The annual Patrons will take place on Friday, June 28, at 6.30 p.m. in Kilmannon and 7.30 p.m. in Ballyconnick. Mass in Cleariestown at 7 p.m.

Sympathy

We extend sympathy to the family and relatives of Ciaran Redmond Cave, Mulrankin, Bridgetown, who died tragically recently. May he rest in peace.

'Songs for Hope'

Thanks to everyone for supporting our fundraising day in Staffords in Tullycanna for the Hope Cancer Support Centre. We raised over €1,800 on the day from donations and raffle tickets. See you all again next year.

Rosslare Strand

Tidy Towns

Rosslare Tidy Towns are happy to confirm that the entry for this year's competition is in and now we have to continue preparations for adjudication which takes place anytime during the months June and July.

It is a matter of all hands on deck and this year we hope that people will be anxious to lend a hand. We hope to build further on the success of the past 3 years.

Again we ask that people keep a special eye on their own properties and on the footpaths, roadway outside.

Please remove weed, litter and for Business Premises we would ask that you have good bins in place and that your property is presented in the best possible condition. Adjudicators take special note of this including colour schemes , advertising etc. If there are planters close to you we would welcome Help with watering especially where we have just planted. It will pay dividends for everyone in the community.

Field day 2019

Our annual field day will take place on Sunday, July 28. There are a limited number of spaces available if you would like to book a stall for this year's event. Contact Rosslare Community Centre at 053 9132202.

Rosslare Youth Club

Youth club continue to meet every Friday at 7 p.m. We will hold an evening of fun and games on May 24 to mark the end of another season. New members are always welcome - contact us via our Facebook page at any time. We are always happy to hear from volunteers who would like to get involved with the club.

St Mary's GAA

The lotto was not won. The numbers were 4, 6, 9 and 20 on May 7. Four match three. Liam Griffin/Roy Ryan/Clare Brady/Mick O'Donnell. Next draw is May 14 in the clubhouse at 8 p.m. and is €5,050. Tickets are €2 and can be bought off all Managers, players, committee members and places around the parish. Please buy to help run our club and the chance to win over €5,000.

Our Adult team had a very narrow loss to Glynn-Barntown on Tuesday, May 7, 2-12 to 1-16 even though missing a few players. They play Crossabeg-Ballymurn away on the 18th at 7 p.m. Football Division 2.

Our under-seven boys train on Mondays 6.30 to 7.30 Team Manager Liam Lawlor at 086 8528299 they played in a blitz in Tagoat on Saturday, May 4, which was attended by 18 teams throughout the county. Our team played very well and it was a great morning for the club. we will hold more throughout the year.

Our under-nine boys train Tuesdays 6.30 to 7.30 Patsy Meyler is our Team Manager and can be contacted at 086 6381207. They played a blitz against St Martin's/Ballyhogue and Faythe Harriers on Saturday the 11th and did very well.

Our under-11 boys will continue Hurling and football training on Sundays at 11 a.m. Our under-10 played a County Football blitz against St Anne's, Monagear/Boolavogue and Glynn-Barntown in Ferns. Jimmy Wickham is our team manager and you can contact him at 087 3440732 they have already had a few blitz and have done very well in Bree on April 20. They played Moguegeen Gaels on Thursday the ninth and done very well. They play Football on May 24 away to St James at 7 p.m. and away to Kilmore Hurling on May 31 at 7 p.m.

Our under-13 boys have played numerous matches including they had a great win against St Martin's in the rising stars on Sunday, May 5. They beat Taghmon 5-10 to 2-7 Football on Friday, May 10. They play at home to Gussarane on May 21 at 7.30 Hurling and away to Adamstown Hurling May 28 at 7.30 p.m.

Our under-15 beat Kilmore 6-16 to 2-2 in Football and beat Taghmon 4-11 to 2-8 in Hurling. They loss narrowly to Shelmaliers 2-8 to 4-4 in the rising stars Football. They play Geraldine O'Hanrahan's Hurling on May 16 at 7.30 p.m. in Tagoat. Away to St Martin's Hurling May 23 at 7.30 p.m. and Tagoat against Faythe on May 30 at 7.30 p.m.

We are always looking for new players to join at all levels so if interest ring one of our managers or our Underage chairman Derek Howlin 087 8371879.

We had a very successful Kids Camp on April 18 and 19. All the kids enjoy themselves and the weather was beautiful. We will be holding a summer Camp as usual and tickets can be bought on the GAA website.

We wish to thank all those who bought development draw tickets which helps in the running of our club. First draw had one winner from our club David McDonnell hopefully one of many in the next two draws.

Congratulations to Cian Byrne goal keeper and James Shield manager of the Wexford Minor Hurling team who are part of the minor team.

Well done to Tadhg Brohan and Ben Power, who were picked for the under-15 Wexford team.

Camogie Club news

Our under-16s were in action but unfortunately lost. After a poor first half the girls came out fighting for the second half and gave it their all. If we had played the same way in the first half we would have won the match.

Our under-14s were in action in a practice match away to Marshalstown-Castledockrell. They lost out in a close match. We had several younger girls playing who all acquitted themselves very well. The team are in championship action on Wednesday when they are away to Bannow.

Our under-8s played Kilmore away and came away with a win and some excellent skills and determination were on display. Well done, girls.

Our under-10s played a blitz in Kilmore. We won all our four matches. We defeated St Martin's A, St Martin's B, Clonard and St Anne's.

Course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to use internet and email safely, how to make video calls, how to pay motor tax online, pay your bills online or order your shopping to be delivered online. We can also teach you how to order your library books to be delivered on the library bus. Best if you can bring your own laptop or phone, but if you can't no worries, we will sort it out.

Befriending Group

This is a free service offering companionship to older people through weekly visits and telephone calls. Volunteers are trained by 'Alone', and are Garda vetted and reference checked. We complement other services such as home help, homecare etc., but do not replace them. Self-referrals and professional referrals are welcome.
