Rosslare Harbour: Summer Playscheme - Kilrane-Rosslare Harbour Tops Community Group summer Playscheme will run from Monday, July 15, to Friday, July 19. Join us for an action packed week of song, dance, drama, props and costume making, script writing and guaranteed lots of fun.

Aimed at children aged three to 12 years, it will run daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Kilrane Community Centre. The week will conclude with a show for parents/family/friends on the Friday with refreshments served. €55 per child with sibling discount applied.

RNLI Coastal Run Walk

Our annual coastal run-walk is on Sunday, May 5, at 10.30 a.m. starting from Rosslare Harbour beach. Registration is from 9.45 a.m. on the day you can choose between two routes, you can do a 5k from Rosslare Harbour beach St Helen's beach and back or a 16k Rosslare Harbour beach carne beach and back, entry fee €10 for adults, teenagers €5 and children free. This will be a timed event your support will be much appreciated.

Congratulations and well done also to Ger Maloney and Johnny Kelly and to some of our members parents Janna and Jaro Sumec and Yvonne O'Sullivan, who took part in the Wexford Triathlon 10k Road Race on Monday in Rosslare Strand.

Training continues Mondays and Wednesdays at the Track in Rosslare, new members welcome. There is only two more training sessions before the much awaited Wexford Juvenile County Championships on Sunday, May 5.

St Mary's camogie club

Our under-10 girls were in action at a blitz in Piercestown on Easter Saturday. The girls defeated St Anne's in their first match and followed this up with another victory over Clonard. We rounded off the day with a win against the hosts, St Martin's. Three wins from three matches. Well done, girls.

Membership is now overdue. Players will not be permitted to train or play unless paid up as they are not insured.

St Mary's GAA Club organised a wonderful Easter camp including an Easter egg hunt. Great fun was had by all. Thanks to all involved.

Second hand helmet appeal - If you have helmets which are no longer in use please consider donating them to us for our younger players. We promise they will be put to good use. Helmets must be in good condition.

Sympathy

Deepest Sympathy is extended to the following families from our parish who have had recent bereavements.

Stephen and Maureen Cleary, Westwinds, Kilrane on the untimely death of his brother Pat, Pugin Park, Tagoat, who died on April 7.

Johnny and Chris Culleton, St Brendan's Estate on the death of his brother Liam from Kilmore Quay, who died on April 11.

Denise Byrne, La Rochelle on the sad passing of her brother Jason O'Leary, Kennedy Park, who died on April 8.

Sympathy to the O'Brien, Doyle and Daly families on the death of their sister-in-law Stella O'Brien, Cotts, Tacumshane, who passed away on April 16.

Condolences also to Ronnie and Mikie Sinnott, St Brendan's Estate on the death of Ronnie's mother the late Eileen White, Shilmore, Carne, who died on Monday, April 22. May they rest in peace.

Rosslare Strand

Community Walk

Following on from the unqualified success of our recent community walk, we have decided to repeat the event, taking in some of the historical points of note which we didn't get to cover last time. The walk will take place on Saturday, May 4, at 11 a.m., with walkers convening at the community centre.

The route will take walkers down towards the Burrow, returning along the beach, and finishing at the Access for All Gardens, where a welcome bench and some light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome - please wear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Rosslare Youth Club

Youth club are now on holiday and will next meet on Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome - contact us via our Facebook page at any time.

New 2 U Charity Boutique

Looks like summer is finally on its way - wny not mark the occasion with one (or five) additions to your summer wardrobe. Some lovely new and almost new spring/summer clothing currently in stock.

We are open from Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offer a wide range of clothing, bric-à-brac and small household goods.

Good quality donations are always welcome; any out of hours contributions can be handed into the community centre.

Open Garden

Doyle's, Orchard Park are opening their garden to the public every Sunday. All are invited; proceeds will be divided between Tagoat Parish Church and Tagoat Day Care centre.

Digital Skills Course - for total beginners, Fridays, except Good Friday, at 10.30. Course is ideal for anyone who wants to learn how to use internet and email safely, how to make video calls, how to pay motor tax online, pay your bills online or order your shopping to be delivered online. We can also teach you how to order your library books to be delivered on the library bus. Best if you can bring your own laptop or phone, but if you can't no worries, we will sort it out.

Befriending Group

This is a free service offering companionship to older people through weekly visits and telephone calls. Volunteers are trained by 'Alone', and are Garda vetted and reference checked. We complement other services such as home help, homecare etc., but do not replace them. Self-referrals and professional referrals are welcome.
