Around Wexford town

Library - On Tuesday, June 4 at 7pm Zoe Devlin will present a talk on Wild Flowers. Booking is essential for these events, phone 053 9196760. Baby Rhyme Time continues every Wednesday at 10.30am and Toddler Story Time continues at 10.30am every Friday. The library will be closed on Saturday, June 1 and Monday, June 3 for the Bank Holiday weekend. It will re-open on Tuesday, June 4 at 10.30am.

Girl Guides

Irish Girl Guides (IGG) are holding an open evening for girls and parents on Wednesday, May 29 from 17.30-19.00 in St Iberius primary school. IGG offers an exciting programme for girls in a safe and supportive environment. Our members grow in confidence, develop teamwork and leadership skills, experience new activities and build life-long friendships. In Wexford, we have units suitable for girls aged 7-14. Summer camp

This year the Wexford Campus will host a Creative Computing Summer Camp involving Programming, Web Design and Hardware for Transition Year students on June 5 and 6. Cost is €20 and includes lunch.

Auditions

Oyster Lane Theatre Group is holding auditions next month for its production of 'Grease'. On Sunday June 23 at 2 p.m. auditions for the cast take place at Gaelscoil Charman, Whiterock Hill, and the following evening at 7.30 p.m. Auditions for the chorus take place at the same venue. Conference

'The Pathways to Clean Cooking 2050: Leaving No-one Behind' conference takes place in the National Opera House and Carricklawn, County Hall on Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31. Exploring the impact of solid fuels on the environment, the conference will feature discussions on creating modern, clean, sustainable bio energy in a low-income country context among others in a two-day series of events. Fashion Show

A fundraiser showcasing fabulous fashion in aid of Relay for Life Wexford takes place at the Wexford County Council premises at Carricklawn on Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m. Relay for Life is a massive community event that brings people from all over Co Wexford together in the fight against cancer. It celebrates those who are surviving cancer, remembers those we've lost and raises awareness, while at the same time raising vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society. Tickets €10.

Dancers

Confident people who have previous choral or dance performance experience are sought to take part in a project entitled 'Moving under Skies' which will culminate in a performance on Culture Night in September. An open call audition takes place on Sunday, June 9 between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Wexford Arts Centre.

Simon & Garfunkel

At the National Opera House on Saturday June 8 at 7.30 p.m. this live event will use projection photos and original film footage and will also feature a full live band performing all of the duo's hits including 'Mrs Robinson', 'Cecilia', 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', 'Homeward Bound' and many more. Darts

A Charity Darts tournament in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation will take place in Mocking Monck, Monck Street, on Sunday, June 2 at 1.30 p.m. €5 registration fee. Raffle on the day.

Exam Mass

The annual Exam Mass takes place at Bride Street Church on Tuesday, June 4 at 7 p.m.

Appreciation

A night of appreciation for An Garda Síochána Co. Wexford takes place at Wexford Golf Club on Friday, June 7 at 6.30 p.m. Featuring special presentations to Superintendent Denis Whelan and Sergeant Graham Rowley, catering for the event will be provided by the Ginger Bistro. Contact 083 350 3992.
