The St Fintans GAA local lotto now stands at €3,600. Tickets can be purchased from local shops and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300euro up for grabs each week. Last weeks numbers were 13,15,19,20.


A grand concert will be held in the Talbot Hotel on Thursday October 14th featuring the Three Tenors and the Ballycogley Players.The concert will commence at 8.30pm and the procceds from same will go to the Mayglass church fund. Tickets cost €10.


The St Fintans golfing society will hold its next outing on the lovely Fota Island golf course on October 9th.Please keep this date in mind as the prize on the day is the captains prize.Tee off time is 10.30am.


The St Fintan's ladies and gents club will hold their fundraising Gala ball in the Danby Lodge Killinick on Saturday October 16th. The night will commence with a champagne reception at 7pm followed by a five course meal and dancing till late to Dublin band Tilt, followed by DJ Colin Wright.

Dress is informal and there will be numurous spot prizes and all this for 50euro.Why not call on your friends to join you at your table for a night of chat,good food and a dance or two.Please contact any club member for your tickets.


St Fintans Ladies are holding a fundraising table quiz in aid of the underage girls, it will be held in The Coopers Inn Killinick on Thursday 7th October at 9.00pm start. Table of four is €20, please come and support.


A fundraising table quiz will be held in the Pike bar and lounge on Friday October 8th commencing at 8.30pm.A table of four will cost €20 and the proceeds will go to the Mayglass church development fund. Why not come along to support and have a night of fun and craic with your friends.


Scout registration will take place on Wednesday September 29th in Kilmore hall from 6.45 to 7.45pm. Please be on time.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Jim Howlin, Rathmacknee and Leo Carthy, Airdownes, both of whom died in the recent past. May they rest in peace.


The Ballycogley Players were saddened to learn of the death of one of their loyal supporters during the past week. Leo Carthy was always a great supporter of the arts and the Ballycogley players are very thankful for the many types of support he afforded them.He will be sadly missed and may the green sod of Ireland rest lightly on his grave.


Yoga with Annemaire every Thursday in the Scout hall Ballymore at 8pm-9pm. Thank You Congratulations to all the prize winners and a big thank you to Pam O'Rourke and family and all who helped in any way to make the horse show in aid of Mayglass church fund such a huge success.A great day was had by all and the final figure raised on the day was 1800euro.Well done and thank you to all concerned.


The fun day last Saturday was blessed a fine day.Large crowds attended with many attractions highly entertained. The draw for the Kevin Doyle signed jeresy was won by Kyle Rankin, 2nd prize of lunch for two and family membership to the heritage park went to Ann Furlong, 3rd prize of a hamper from Karoo was won by Aidan Furlong.A big thank you to all who supported the day and also to those who donated goods or helped in any way in making this a very successful day.


Our u-10 boys began their season with an eagerly awaited derby against Kilmore utd.The Blacks lead throught a James Cleary strike. After Kilmore drew level a determined Blacks team pulled the winner from the bag with Lee Redmond slotting home to bring an entertaining game to a close. Well done to both teams. Training for u-12 boys tonight at 6.30pm.
