BALLYMORE/ MAYGLASS

GAA LOTTO

The St. Fintan's GAA lotto now stands at €7,200 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and from club members at a cost of €1.50. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Leo Casey, Lena Kelly, John Fanning and Tom Gaul. The numbers drawn were 6, 7, 11, 22.

TOPS CONCERT

A variety concert will take place on Friday evening Janurary 21st in the community hall, Our Lady's Island commencing at 8pm. The proceeds from the fun evening will go to the local tops group. The night will feature the Ballycogley Players plus a number of local artists.

BEREAVEMENT

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Tommy Hayes Piercestown who sadly died in the recent past.May he rest in peace.

GAA CLUB AGM

St. Fintan's gents GAA club will hold its AGM in the club house on Friday Janurary 21st at 8pm. All current and intending members are requested to attend.

DRAMA

The Ballycogley players have returned to Tomhaggard and are currently putting the finishing touches to their production of the Brian Friel penned play "Give me your answer Do". The group look forward to bringing this production to you all in mid Feburary.

THRIFT FUND

The thrift fund has commenced once again and collections for same will take place after the Saturday evening mass in Mayglass and following the Sunday morning mass in Ballymore.

AWARDS

Congratulations to Jimmy Furlong and Brendan Rhatigan two former members of the St. Fintan's GAA club who were honoured at the recent Seana Ghael awards cermony which was held in the Ferrycarrig Hotel. These two men were staunch members of the club on the playing field in the 50s and 60s. Well deserved.
