The jackpot in the St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €4,800 and tickets are available from club members and from local shops at €1.50. A match three prize of €300 is also up for grabs each week and last week Richard Rowe shared in this prize. Last week's numbers were 3,15,17,29.
CAKE SALE AND RAFFLE
A cake sale and raffle will be held at Mayglass church on Saturday June 4th before and after 7.30pm mass. Donations of all kinds of confectionery would be most welcome and the proceeds are in aid of the Mayglass church restoration fund.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Tom Doyle, Walshestown Killinick and formanly of Cornerstown, Ballycogley who died during the recent past. Tom who was in his 103 year was laid to rest in Mayglass cemetery following mass in Mayglass church. May he rest in peace.
St. Fintan's golfing society held its annual scramble in St Helens on Saturday last. The course was in its usual good condition, but the blustery weather made this three man team event quite a challenge. Nevertheless six teams returned under par scores, clear winners were Paddy Furlong, Frank Doyle and Eric Byrne,second were Finny Kenny, Aidan Furlong and Paud O'Brien with Pat Rossiter, Jim Brauneisen and Phil Cassidy in third place.The outing was kindly sponsored by the Danby Lodge and the presentation of prizes was made there at a social event that night.The next outing is at Waterford golf club on June 11th.

Peggy Richards of Mayglass is currently a patient at Wexford General Hospital and she is wished a speedy recovery to full fitness and health by her family and friends.It was good news to hear that Peggys neighbour Eileen Murphy has returned home following a brief stay at Wexford General.

Get all your bits and pieces together for the next car boot sale which will take place on Saturday May 21st and Saturday July 2nd from 8am-1pm. Gates opened to traders from 7.30am. Rates: €10 per car, €15 per van and €20 per large vehicle. All traders are welcome. Weather permitting. Gate admission is €2 per adult and children are free. A very sucessful Texas holdem poker session was held in the Danby Lodge Killinick with the proceeds from the night going to the Tracie Lawlor trust for cystic Fibrosis.
The organising committee would like to say a big "thank you"to the twenty two sponsors,those who supported on the night, the Danby Lodge and anyone who helped in any way to make this fundraiser the sucess that it was. Well done to the overall winner on the night James Power Tomhaggard.
The St Fintans intermediate football team suffered an embarassing defeat at the hands of 2009 county intermediate champions Glynn/Barntown in the opening round of group A at Wexford Park. High winds on the day contributed to what was a poor show and the men from Ballymore/Mayglass will have step up greatly if they are to feature in the latter stages of this years championship.
Martina Keane would like to say a big thank you to all those that supported her in the charity celebrity wannabe which was held in the recent past. With the help of your votes Martina won the top prize of €5,000 for the charity Acquired Brain Injury Ireland. Well done all.
Nick Moore of Coalspit celebrated his 70th birthday at a party with a large gathering of family and friends in the Danby Lodge, Killinick on Saturday evening last. Happy birthday Nick.
FUN FASHION SHOW
A very entertaining and sucessful fun fashion show,Mr & Mrs and balloon game was marred when one of the participants was injured during one of the games but for this unfortunate accident the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by the large gathering of supporters. The sum raised from the evening went to the Mayglass church restoration fund. We wish our friend and fellow fundraiser a speedy recovery. We also thank the Danby Lodge for the generous sponsorship.
A big well done to Zara & Caoimhe McGuire on their performances at the All Ireland gymnastics finals which were held in Salthill,Galway in the recent past.
Well done to St. Fintans Ladies who had a win over Clonee B with a scoreline of 47 to 1-12. Unfortunately they were defeated against Gusserane last Sunday morning with a scoreline of 3-15 to 2-8. Next match this evening (Wednesday) in New Ross against Geraldine O'Hanrahans. Well done to under 14s who drew against Cushinstown with a scoreline 3-7 to 4-4. The under 12s were beaten at home to Adamstown.
