The jackpot in the St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €14,700 and tickets may be purchased from local shops and from club members at a cost of €1.50. A match three prize of €300 is also up for grabs each week and Lily Walsh,chris Keane, Darragh &Eimear Doyle, Nick Rossiter, Terry Wilson, Kathleen Crowley and Nora Rowe shared in this prize last week with the following numbers drawn 3,8,12,16.


Another year has passed and tickets for the annual model county development draw are currently on sale at €50 for the three draws. Your ticket may be purchased in one installment or €20 x2 plus one payment of €10. The draw has an attractive array of prizes varing from cars,holidays and numerous cash prizes. Your support in this draw will greatly benefit the St Fintans GAA club and also gives you the chance to win a fabolous prize.please expect a call from a club member in the near future. Training in both hurling and football for u-6 players of the St Fintans GAA club has commenced in Ballymore and will take place each Monday evening from 6.307.30pm.all boys and girls u-6 are welcome and please note that hurling and football will take place each evening.


The annual general meeting of the Ballymore/mayglass parish council will be held in the scout hall Ballymore on Wednesday April 18th at 8.30pm. We are hoping for a good attendance as we need new members.


Barge Vintage club is hosting a Mega Charity Vintage run on Saturday April 21st. A number of vintage clubs are participation from Wales and 32 counties and all vintage vehicles are welcome to come along.opening ceremony will be in the P&Q yard Kilrane at 10.45am, vehicles will be leaving Kilrane at 11am sharp proceeding onto Kilmore Quay and then Johnstown Castle for refreshments, leaving Johnstown then to make their way back to Kilrane.

People can avail of the opportunity to visit the famous Agriculture Museum while there. The Ballycogley players will hold an end of season night out in Green Acres Lounge Tenacre on Friday April 27th at 9pm. All group members are requested to attend.finger food will be served.


A cake sale and raffle will be held on Saturday May 4th in Mayglass before and after 7.30pm mass, in aid of the Mayglass church restoration fund. Donations of confectionary would be gratefully appreciated. thank you.


There will be a fundraising car boot sale in Mayglass church car park on Saturday April 28th from 8am-1pm.admission is €2 with children €10, vans €15 and large vans €20, with gates open to traders from 7.30am. Proceeds are in aid of the Mayglass church restoration fund.there will be further car boot sales on the following dates May 26th, June 30th, July 28th and August 25th. A very sucessful easter raffle was held during the recent past in aid of the Mayglass church restoration fund.the following were the lucky winners of the hampers,mary Doyle, Amy Scallan, Mary Tennant, Joseph Carley, Kelly Ann Gill and Brendan Pollard. An Irish night will be held in the Halfway House Ballycogley on Friday April 27th with Eoghnie and friends. More details will be furnished next week and a cover charge of €2 will apply, there will also be a door prize and raffle on the night. Proceeds in aid of the Mayglass church restoration fund.


The underage section of the club saw plenty of action in the recent past. The u11 boys suffered two defeats, Wexford Celtic were the victors in a very close game on a 2-1 scoreline and then leaque winners Rosslare Rangers also defeated the boys.a Friday night home fixture with Cloughbawn the visiters for a 6.30pm kick off brings this season to an end.

The u-12 boys defeated Duncannon on a 4-2 scoreline with the goals coming from Conor Breen(2), Robert Cogley and Chris O'connor. And then brought their season to a close with a 2-1 defeat to Campile. Well done boys.

The u-14 boys beat Shamrock Rovers on a 5-0 scoreline with the goals coming from Cathal Devereux(2), robert Cloney, Quinn Saunders and Jamie Sinnott.on Sat last they lost out on a 3-1 scoreline to Taghmon in a game that the boys dominated, Robert Cogley scored the goal for the blacks. These young boys will end their season on Friday of this week with a difficult away tie to champions St Cormacs.

The u-12 girls were totally dominated by Taghmon who defeated them on a 4-0 scoreline. taghmon led on a 3-1 scoreline at the break and added another goal midway through the second half and Leanne Mcdonnell scored a consolation goal for the blacks just before the final whistle sounded. These girls then travelled to Seaview where they secured a 4-4 draw with the goals coming from Emily Caokley (3) and Abbie Jones.

Well done to the u-14 girls who held second spot in the table courtesy of a nill all draw to Rosslare Rangers at home to complete a very good season for the girls. Congratulations to all the girls on a great season.

On Sunday next the All Blacks men will take on Wexford Celtic in the semifinal of the Neil O'sullivan cup at 11am in of luck lads.

Congratulations to Zara Mc Guire and her partners Tara Doyle Robinson and Casey Jordan who quailfied for the All Ireland finals in grade 2 trios of gymnastics which will be held in St Peters College Wexford on May 12th/13th. We wish the girls the very best of luck.
