The St Fintans GAA lotto jackpot now stands at €17,100 and tickets may be purchased from club members or from the local shops at €1.50. A match three prize of €300 is also up for grabs each week. Last weeks winning numbers were 2,3,9,10 and Michelle Bierney and Sean Doyle shared in this prize last week.


Following the recent very successful carboot sale which was held in Mayglass church grounds the fundraising committee for the church restoration fund will hold another one on June 30th.

The sale takes place from 8am-1pm, admission is €2 with children free. Admission for traders: cars €10euro, vans €15 and large vans €20. Gates open at 7.30am for traders. Proceeds in aid of the Mayglass church restoration fund.for further information please contact 087 9459918.


The local All Blacks soccer club will hold its annual general meeting in the club rooms at Casey Park on Thurs June 21st at 8pm. all are welcome.


Bridie and Aidan Lambert of Mayglass (beside the church) are kindly opening their lovely garden again this year on Sunday June 24th from 2pm-5pm in aid of Mayglass church restoration fund. Tea,coffee and cakes will be served on the day. Your support would be much appreciated.


The third in the current series of model county development draws will take place on Wednesday June 27th at the GAA office Wexford park at 7pm. Tickets for this draw are available from the St Fintans GAA club costing just €10. There are forthy prizes up for grabs with a car or €13,000 as a first prize.


Members please take note that the St Fintans golfing society will hold its next outing at the lovely Gowran golf club on Sat Aug 4th with a tee off time of 10am. For further information please contact Robert Rowe at 086 8139894.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Maura Ferguson Ballygillane Kilrane (nee Boggan, Tannerhill) who sadly died during the recent past. Mauras remains were laid to rest in Kilrane cemetery. May she rest in peace.


The Hope Cancer support Centre's Summer Solstice Walk will take place again this year on Curracloe Beach on Thurs 21st June at 8.00 p.m. It will be a ceremony of healing and light, we would like all of Wexford to come along and join us for a wonderful experience.


The Ballymore/mayglass parish council wish to thank all those who supported the parish field day in Ballymore on Sunday June 10th. Thanks to all that attended, contributed bottles, confectionary and items for the wheel of fortune and supported the draw.

A special word of thanks to the Mayglass parents council for their help in the running of the field day. We are very greatful to all the businesses and individuals who generously sponsored items for the various stalls. We appreciate the help of the road collecters and ticket sellers, anyone who helped in any way to make the day a success by manning stalls, gate, carparking etc.

Thanks also to St Fintans GAA club for the use of their grounds for the field day and to John Kelly who supplied the bouncy castles. Well done to the children who won medals and prizes in the sports and to the boys and girls who provided an entertaining football game and to their mentors for organising.

We were blessed with lovely weather and everyone enjoyed the day. The proceeds will be shared between Mayglass school and parish council. Grateful thanks to all. Field day draw winners were 1st (€150) Willie Pettit, Killinick; 2nd (€100) Alan Jones, Mayglass; 3rd (€50) Bridie Roche, Bridgetown. Darts -Thomas Ryan, Rings- Paud O'brien, Golf- Paud O'brien (adult), Cormac Lyons (children).


Mary (molly) Harmon Ballymore who spent some time at Wexford General hospital is at present recovering at the New Houghton hospital New Ross and she is wished a speedy recovery by her family and friends.
