In a game played in ideal conditions in Oylegate the St Fintans intermediate football team suffered a 2-10 to 0-12 defeat in their group B championship. Having fielded a much under strenght team due in the main to state examinations, holidays and injuries this St Fintans side put up a creditable performance against the Gorey district team St Patricks.

This defeat gives the men in green a mountain to climb to reach the knockout stages of this years championship and the fact that so many of the junior team played makes fielding a team in this grade next to impossible. The intermediate team currently sit in third place trailing table toppers Naomh Eanna by four points after three of the five games to be played.

Thank you to all who participated in the first night of the Mile Challenge and we hope you were your first night's performance! The next night for the Mile Challenge is Monday, 2nd July so we're looking forward to seeing you all again then and hopefully some new faces too.

People have been invited to walk, jog or run 4 laps of the DMP track in Drinagh (down from McDonalds) in aid of The MS Society South Wexford and The Ben Wadding Trust for Crumlin's Children's Hospital beginning from 25th June for 6 consquective Mondays.

Each night costs €3 per person and everyone gets an official time. The idea is that everyone should see an improvement in their time for the mile after six weeks, but at very least improve fitness and meet some great people doing so. (It is not mandatory to do all six weeks). For additional information please call Niamh Radford on 087-7828817.
