The Tai Chi classes in Carrig Community Centre will commence on Tuesday October 5th at 11am. Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise suitable for all levels of fitness. For further information please phone Wendy on 086 2052168, classes are open to everyone.


The Bannow/Ballymitty Active Retirement Association walk from Paul's Quay to the Cockle Strand was called off due to the wet weather on Tuesday of last week. The members enjoyed a game of charades in Carrig Community Centre last Thursday night. On this Thursday September 23 the members are going on a trip on a barge from St. Mullins to New Ross and back on the river Barrow. Pleaser bring your own food for the trip. Members are going for a walk through Enniscorthy this Sunday, September 26th for World Heart Day in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation.

Walkers will meet at the N.C.T Testing Centre, Enniscorthy at 2.30pm. Eva will lead a walk around St. Kearns on this Monday September 27 at 11am.


Ballymitty Youth Club will hold their AGM on this Thursday night September 23rd at 8pm in Ballymitty Hall, please note the change of date.


Deepest sympathy is extended to the Dick Stafford and Family, Tullicanna on the death of his beloved wife Mai, who passed away at home on Friday afternoon last. Mai was known far and wide and always had a smile on her face and was very quick witted too, and was always ready for a joke. Mai's remains were removed from the family home on Saturday evening to St. Peter's Church, Ballymitty and funeral mass was on Sunday afternoon with internment in Kilcaven cemetery. Sympathy is extended to her husband Dick, sons Martin, Pat and Rich, daughters Margaret, Marion, Betty and Kathy, daughters in law, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, and a wide circle of friends. Mai's son Mick predeceased her eight years ago, may you rest in peace Mai.

Irish dancing classes recommenced on Mondays in Carrig Community Centre from 2 - 3pm and 3 - 4pm, phone Catriona on 085 8450548.

Because of your tireless efforts we are able to offer our residents clients and visitors the facilities and services that they deserve. However, we are currently in the process of building new treatment rooms for resident's local community to use and fundraising is always welcome.

Congratulations to all the junior certificates students who secured their results in the past week, well done to all.


Last week saw the wedding of Noreen Dake, Littlegraigue and Eoin Murphy, Colhull. The wedding took place in Carrig Church and the bridesmaids were Noreen's sisters Eileen and Eva, best man and groomsman were Rory Murphy and Neill Cassidy, friends of the groom. Members of both the Murphy and Dake families provided all the beautiful music and sons in the church. This was followed by the reception in Whites Hotel, Wexford. A great day was had by all and the happy couple are spending their honeymoon in America. Best wishes to them both for along and happy life together.


Deepest sympathy to the Ffrench Family, Bannow on the sudden death of Eileen. She is survived by her husband jimmy, son Declan, daughter in law and grandchildren, brother and sisters, may she rest in peace.


The Dick Williams Memorial tractor run is on Sunday 03rd October, leaving Taghmon Community Centre, at 11am. All are welcome.
