A big thanks to John Waters and his sisters for the music on Tuesday, it was a great afternoon. Thanks also to Tony Jeffers for the session on Thursday afternoon.

The residents wish to thank the I.C.A. for the lovely part in Colfer's on Wednesday last, January 19, the food, music and company was all brilliant and we all came home with raffle prizes, thank you all so much.

A great night was had by all at the Oak Tree last Friday when a presentation was made by the Forge Vintage club to a number of local charities. A big thank you is expressed from Grantstown, keep up the good work.

The Bannow/Ballymitty G.A.A. Club Christmas Draw was held at their weekly Bingo on Saturday night last. The Draw raised €3240 for club funds. The Bannow/Ballymitty Ladies Football A.G.M. takes place tonight Wednesday January 26 in Breen's Bar, Carrig-on-Bannow at 8 p.m. All members are asked to attend and anyone interested in helping out in any way is very welcome, looking forward to seeing you there.


The I.C.A. hosted the Senior Citizen's Party in Murphy's bar, Carrig on Wednesday night January 19. Everyone enjoyed the lovely meal served by John and Teasie Murphy and their staff.

We would like to tank them and we would also like to thank Joe Monaghan, Sean Stafford and John Murphy for the lovely entertainment on the night. A big thanks to Breda and Phil Walsh for the lovely gifts for everyone who attended the party and thanks to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle.

A big thank you to Emma White who presented the committee with monies, which she raised by making Christmas decorating and selling them to her relatives and friend, well done Emma. Thanks to Cliona and all the party singes who entertained us. Thanks to John and Teasie and their ticket sellers who donated the proceeds of their Christmas raffle, everyone enjoyed a lovely night and we wish ye all a happy 2011.


Any parent wishing to enrol a pupil in Danescastle N.S. fro September 2011 may collect an enrolment form from the school secretary, forms should be returned to the school by January 31, 2011.

In the Leinster College's Camogie (Junior) semi final, St. Mary's New Ross beat F.C.J. Bunclody by a big score, with seven girls from our club on the panel, the girls were: Pamela McCormack, Eilish Cullen, Mairead Moran, Shannon McDonald, Geraldine, Walsh, Pamela Fitzharris and Shauna Culleton. Well done girls, best of luck in the Leinster Final when you play a school from Birr, Co. Offaly which will probably be held this coming Saturday - check about venue with girls.
