FUN WEEKEND

Come along for the Fun Weekend in aid of Windmill Therapeutic Centre, Wexford and St. Anthony's Unit, Enniscorthy, this weekend September 24/25 at Stafford's Tullicanna.

Saturday: BBQ from 2 p.m., Tractor Run at 3 p.m., Novelty Fun Tug O War 3.30 p.m., Entertainment from 6 till late and Auction with Auctioneer Johnny during the evening, Sunday: BBQ and Colcannon from 2 p.m., Skittles Tournament 2.30 p.m., Entertainment by Local Artists 5 p.m. with music and Giant Raffle afterwards. Please come along and support this fundraiser. SQUASH CLUB

The squash club is now up and running for the coming season. Membership fees are adults €30, family €50 and U-18's €15. This can be paid to Chairman Ruairi Harpur, secretary John Quigley or Treasurer Gary Sinnott or can be placed into an envelope and left in Wallace's department Store. SWIM WEEK PARTY

The swim week party will take place in the Atlalntic Bar, Cullenstown on Friday September 23 at 7.30 p.m. all swim week participants are invited to attend. JOANNE'S FITNESS

Joanne's fitness aerobic/circuit training classes are starting back on Monday evenings in Carrig Community Centre on Monday September 19, each class starts at 7.30 p.m. and cost is €8 per calss on a pay as you go system, beginners are always welcome. Corach had a great start to this years season with the A team having a good win over local rivals Stoney Rovers on a 1-0 score. Ben Brosnan scoring a rasper of a goal to give Corach victory. The B team who were ahead 3-1 came home with a 4 all draw again Shelbourne, goals scored by Ollie Murphy, Murt O'Sullivan, Marry Keene and Darragh O'Connor.

In the second round this week we saw two teams once again brining home 2 more wins, the A team securing a great win on an away fixture against Taghmon with Corachs goal scored by the youthful player Ciaran O'Connor and Taghmon supplying us an of, the B team won 3-1 away against St. Cormacks, gaols coming from Alan Diskin, Jay budda McCutcheon and Darragh O'Connor.

Corach Ramblers ladies team are training hard at the moment getting ready for this years season, any other ladies out there who would like to play please contact any club member to get training times, also all our under age boy and girls teams are on the go so come along on Saturday morning to join in the fun at Corach Ramblers and play soccer with your friends, there are under age teams in the following age groups: boys U-9, 10, 11 and girls U-10, 12, & 14.

We are calling all girls U-16 who are interested in playing to contact us as soon as possible so we can see have we the number to enter a team. Keep in mind if you were born in 2004 you play U-8 and if born in 2003 you play U-9.

Well done to our U-10 boys who had a 1-0 victory in their first outing against St. Leonards, goal scored by Lorcon Breen. Also the U-9 boys had their first outing of the season well done to all and there is lots of room for any other players who would like to come along on Saturday morning.

The South East Soccer tickets are now available with lots of chances to win anything from a car to a holiday to a flat screen T.V. so contact a club member now to secure your ticket in this draw while supporting your local club at the same time. Corach Ramblers would like to extend sympathy to the family of Wally Kehoe, Johnstown, Duncormick who passed away suddenly last week, may he rest in peace. BRIDGE CLUB AGM

Outgoing President Joan Hayes presided at the A.G.M of the club on Tuesday September 6, secretary Peggy Quigley gave a detailed report of a very successful year in the club with a marked increase in numbers now playing.

Outgoing treasurer Imelda Croisbie had a very comprehensive financial report, which showed the club in a healthy position. The President thanked everyone for the use of the hall and her fellow officers for all the help. New committee elected was: President Mike Harper, secretary Oona Dwyer, treasurer Imelda Crosbie, membership fee €20, table money €4 stating time 7.30 p.m. sharp every Tuesday. CAMOGIE

Our annual U-12 blitz will be held in Grantstown on Saturday September 24 commencing at 10 a.m. The Club send congratulations to our County Senior and Intermediate teams. There has been great celebrations in the County since the two victories. We in the parish are looking forward to representatives visiting both schools with the O'Duffy and McGrath cups in the near future.

The Fundraising Table Quiz will take place the beginning of November, updates to follow. Grantstown Sunshine 100 Club Draw August winners: 1st Jim Waters, 2nd Peg Flynn and 3rd David Staunton. Draw takes place last Tuesday of each month. GOLF CLASSIC

A golf classic in aid of Grantstown Day Care Centre will be taking place at the Abbey Par 3 on Saturday, September 24.

There will be ladies and gents individual competitions, ladies, gents and mixed team competitions and numerous nearest the pin prizes.

Refreshments will be served in the clubhouse. Two players per team. €20 per player. A time sheet will be in operation and please contact John Colfer on 087 6189182 or 051 561230.
