FAREWELL MASS

On Friday night next September 28 there will be a presentation made to Fr.Kevin Cahill, Fr.Kevin will celebrate mass in Ballymitty Church at 7.30 p.m. and after mass refreshments will be served in the hall and a presentation will be made to Fr.Kevin, everyone is most welcome.

THANK YOU

The organisers of the Well Being night in Ballymitty which was in aid of the Defibrillator would like to thank everyone who supported them, to those who bought tickets, to the very kind people in Ballymitty who baked for the night, to the facilitators who gave their time and services freely on the night, and to everyone who donated and sponsored prizes for the door and raffle, a total of €1,105 was raised so once again thank you all very much.

Members of B/B Active Retirement Association went on a walkabout New Ross Park on Tuesday September 3 and visited Ross Tapestry and the Dunbrody Famine Ship.

On Monday lst they travelled to Waterford where they visited the new museum, bishops Palace, Waterford glass and Reginald's Tower, a superb day was had by all.

The members have enjoyed walks along scenic views, ten pin bowling at Leisure Max, Drinagh. At present members are enjoying the Zumba Gold class in Carrig Community Centre every Friday morningfrom 10 to 11 a.m. which is open to everyone.

The association will hold their monthly meeting in Carig Community Centre this Thursday night September 27 at 8 p.m. The Association has welcomed a new of new members in the past few months and more members are always welcome.

Open Night Ramsgrange community school open night takes place on Tuesday October 2 from 6-8 p.m. information for 5th and 6th class primary pupils and parents.

G.A.A. NEWS

B/B G.A.A. are holding the Pat Neville Perpetual cup Golf Classic in St. Helen's bay & County Club on Friday October 6. Teams of four €120 and you could sponsor Tees or Greens For €50, for more information contact Paddy Hannon on 087-2563472.

COMMUNITY ALERT

A meeting was held last Tuesday night and a text alert system has been set up. As evenings are getting dark please check on your elderly neighbours to make sure they are ok. Oil is going missing in the area and you are advised to purchase smaller amounts more frequently.

Certain areas of the parish aren't represented at these meetings and we invite people to attend the next one, which will be held on Tuesday November 6 at 8 p.m. A guest speaker will attend, for more info contact Nicola on 087-6859868 or Mag Butler on 086-1933678.

TIDY TOWNS

Carrig on Bannow increased its marks from 245 in 2011 to 251 in 2012. A lot of work needs to e done to keep increasing our marks. We need both ideas and help to enhance our lovely village, a meeting to discuss the results will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday September 26 at 8.30 p.m. all are welcome.

IRISH DANCING

Well done to the Corach ladies who had a super 1-0 win against Bunclody with a goal from Shannon.
