Benefit Night for baby Lucy
The Wexford community is rallying behind a mother from Bridgetown who has set up a fundraising campaign to provide a special bedroom for her baby daughter who was born with Cerebral Palsy.
Elaine Smith of Longridge, Bridgetown and her partner Darren Wall have established a GoFundMe campaign for their 16-month old daughter Lucy who was born on July 23, 2018 with brain damage and was also recently diagnosed with Scoliosis.
Elaine and her family are trying to raise enough money to build a fully-equipped bedroom for Lucy, with facilities including a ceiling tracking hoist and a wet room.
Lucy, who has an 11-year old sister, currently sleeps in the sitting room as space is limited in the family home and an extension is badly needed to cater for her special needs.
A benefit night has been organised to take place in Rathangan Hall on Saturday, November 30, starting at 7.30 p.m. and everyone is encouraged to support the event.
A large number of musical groups and individuals who have been touched by the campaign for Lucy, have agreed to perform on the night.
The acts include the Mayor of Wexford,Cllr. George Lawlor, Castlebridge Gospel and Le Chéile Choirs, Mairead, Steve and Friends; Ceoltóirí Munna, the Ballycogley Players, Sean Carthy, Mattie Murphy, Ciara O'Grady Sean Nós Dancers, the Drinagh Mummers, Thomas and Daniel Furlong, Cuckoos Nest, Ella Banville, Éabha Keane, Cláirsí Néamhaí and Ne Buachaillí.
The MC for the evening will be Rose Walsh.
Tickets cost €10 each and are available by contacting Elaine on 087 7183400. They can also be purchased at the door on the night.
