Best of luck Rebecca!
AFTER more than two decades at Wexford General Hospital, Rebecca Pierce has retired as assistant director of nursing:
But instead of resting on her laurels and heading for the sun, Rebecca, well known for her dynamism, is heading off to work in the private sector.
She is joining the management team CPL Healthcare as regional coordinator of healthcare training.
Rebecca worked at Wexford General Hospital for 24 years, starting out as a staff nurse and then a ward sister before becoming the hospital's assistant director of nursing.
She is married to Bob and lives in Kilmore with their two children, Leah and Danny.
Her retirement party, attended by a large gathering of family and friends, took place at the Riverbank House Hotel.
Among those wishing her well in the future and thanking her for her years of dedicated service at the retirement function were Dr. Colm Quigley, who spoke on behalf of the clinical directorate and Dr. Ken Mealy, who spoke on behalf of the surgical team.
Senior staff attending included hospital general manager Lily Byrnes.
Rebecca was presented with a watch as a retirement gift and lots of good wishes from all those attending what was a very good function.
