Blackwater benefit concert for Cillian
An outdoor charity concert to raise money for the family of Wexford boy Cillian Wood Condon who is undergoing treatment for cancer, will be held in the car park and gardens of Corrigan's bar in Blackwater on Sunday, August 12 from 1pm to 9pm.
An exciting line-up of eight acts will entertain the crowd including The Back Beats, John Kenny, Pat Hayes, Sport Murphy, Unhinged, Jack Ryan, the Big Rockabilly Party Band and the and John Delaney.
The event is being organised by Tina Breen, Noel Breen and Mick Butler through the Marie Keating Foundation which will be presented with the proceeds to give to the family of Cillian, a seven-year old pupil at Scoil Mhuire who was diagnosed with T-Cell lymphoblastic lymphoma and is facing more than three years of chemotherapy.
Fundraising events are being held to help take some off the financial pressure off Cillian's family during his illness.
A raffle with a painting by the Dublin-based artist Ken Flynn who has Blackwater connections, as first prize, will be raffled at 6.30pm during the evening.Admission is free to the outdoor concert and members of the audience will be invited to make donations.
