GAA REUNION DINNER

The Ballyhogue Dinner Dance will take place this Saturday 22nd October in the Ferrycarrig Hotel. Pride of place on the night will go to members of winning teams from the 60's, 70's and 80's. This will a great opportunity to meet friends and family and to talk football! It would be appreciated if word could be spread to members of those teams who are no longer in the parish or the locality. There will be a meeting of the Parish Finance Committee on Friday evening next, October 21st at 8pm in Bree Community Centre. All members are asked to please attend. CHURCH TABLE QUIZ

A fundraising table quiz in aid of St John's Church, Clonmore will be held on Friday night 28th October at 7.30pm in Enniscorthy Rugby Club. Light Refreshments will be available. All support would be greatly appreciated. BREE YOUTH CLUB

Halloween party for juniors is on 28th October and the theme is 'Spooky story night". Seniors Halloween Disco is also on 28th October, meeting at Bree at 8.15pm. The youth club has a notice board in the games room for anyone who wants to check on upcoming events or confirm names on team lists.

Senior members Leah Curran, Sadhbh Kirwan, Lucy Forte, Sara Celik, Cian Rodgers and Debbie Cahill have been doing youth training with the FDYS in Wexford. Parents Betty Kelly, Bridget Sullivan, Bernie Murphy, Noeleen Long, James and Jacky Byrne, Nicholas Delahunty and Dee Carley recently completed Leaders training with the FDYS.

Leaders in the Youth Club are concerned with the number of children coming to register without an accompanying parent. Membership forms contain a parental consent section which must be signed in the presence of a Club leader. Children will not be admitted to the club unless the parental consent section is signed and parents or legal guardians have made themselves known to the club.

Leaders cannot be held responsible for children's whereabouts outside of the club. Pick-up and drop-off of children to the Club is the responsibility of those who sign the parental consent section of the membership form. HANDBALL FUNDRAISER

A night of music and craic will be held in Byrnes of Bree on Sunday 30th October at 8.30pm to raise funds for the Handball Club. Tickets are on sale at €5 each with door prizes and raffle on the night. Your support would be much appreciated. RESTORATION DRAW

Geraldine Dunne was the €50 winner in the recent Galbally restoration draw. Matt Murphy and Geraldine Dunne each won €25. BREE AC

Athletic Training, for registered members, has resumed on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8pm in the lower field. Cost is €2 per session. New members are welcome. CHESS AND DRAUGHTS

Bree Davidstown Community Games Chess and Draughts Lessons have resumed on Tuesday nights from 7-9pm in Bree Hall. All children from 8 years to 16 years are welcome. Cost is €1. BREE PARISH PROJECT

A new community-based project, which hopes to see the archaeology and history of Bree parish being fully surveyed, recorded and published by local people working in tandem with a licensed archaeologist, Colm Moriarty has been announced.

This initiative, which has been christened the Bree Heritage Project, has received funding from the Environment Fund (heritage related projects) of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. The first public meetings will be held shortly and anyone interested is more than welcome to attend. Bri Beag will host a Halloween Disco on Friday 28th October in Bree Hall from 3.30 pm to 5.30pm. The cost is €3 per child with refreshments/ tea/coffee available. Primary school children are welcome to attend the Disco also. BREE PARISH JOURNAL

Preparations are under way for this year's edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Sept.

The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations.
