Bright start to creche children's day as camogie champion Stacey brings in cup
PRE-SCHOOL teacher and camogie star Stacey Redmond brought the O'Duffy Cup to work last week, much to the delight of the children at the Bright Start Creche.
On arrival she was met by droves of children decked out for the occasion with purple and gold face paint.
Creche owner Mary Whitney said that she has always been greatly impressed by Stacey's dedication to sport.
'She works full time and keeps up with all of the training,' said Mary.
She also added that Stacey has up until the last year balanced her sporting commitments with her education as she has a degree in Early Childhood Care and Education from the Wexford Campus of Carlow I.T.
The children were delighted to see her return to work with the trophy under her arm, particularly those in the after school section who were that little bit older and are themselves interested in sport.
After the cup was paraded through all of the rooms in the creche, there was a garden party for all of the children and their parents with music and food to mark the special occasion.
